Well this is one Volunteers fan thoughts after reading some of your comments on "hearing enough about Phil", and it is of my mind that Phil Fulmer would be of more use as a game show host than as a head football coach.
The Labor Day game was an embarrassment to the SEC, and just when we were getting some of the respect the conference deserves. Then here comes Phil out to the west coast with his super hyped offense, overrated and under trained team.
Maybe if Phil would take some time out of his PR schedule, and actually work on coaching we could beat an non-ranked team every once and a while. He should have been fired and had his last season after last year's saga, but he had a bunch of his buddies take out a ad in the newspaper begging for his job. Pathetic. He has made our team into one of the most hated in the SEC, and usual you get this rep from beating everyone. That's not the case here however. I for one hope UAB beats us then maybe UT will have no choice but to fire him!
While the rest of the SEC get top ranked, hard working coaches that care if their team wins, we are stuck with you! Do UT a favor Phil and RESIGN!
P.S. I think you might be a little late for The Price Is Right, but then again Drew Carey might coach football better than you!

I we don't beat UAB, then Hamilton should pack his bags along with EVERY coach on the football staff. Hell, the waterboy should be canned as well.

I understand your frustration and thinking, but I could never hope for a Vol loss.

Hey, here in Huntsville they're talking aobut Bama going all the way... DURING SABAN's second season... I have never been more disappointed than Monday night... INEXCUSABLE... offer Saban enough money and he'll coach us!

Can't root for a loss, no matter what. Just can't. The ends dont justify the means.

No, me either. On the other hand.....

if I knew...absolutely knew, that a 6-6 record, or worse, would get CPF canned.

Tough call. Do you sacrifice one season for the long term good of the program?

Personally, I would. The longer he stays at the helm, the farther off course the ship gets. And the longer it takes to get back.

go vols.

I live in Florence, Al. Where is Hayden?

Fulmer has become the laughing stock of this state. Bamers will be sad when he leaves.

Bammer's will not be sad when Phil leaves.
1. Many will be elated when he gets fired because they despise him, justifiably.
2. Many will be elated that he's still around to serve as Saban's b1tch for the duration of his tenure.
Welcome aboard Gambit5500.

I agree with TTOM, bammers like to watch him squirm on Nat TV, but alot of bammers hate him and not the team itself. either way , hes not being much help to us.

Yes, the game was a tough, tough loss! It was not however, an embarrassment to the SEC! The Vols traditionally play tough opponents in the first game and although UCLA was injured, with a new system, we should have beaten them, no question. This game was just reeking of an upset. . .do you actually think that UT was going to go in there and just wipe out the Bruins? IMHO this was just blind optimism. Look around you and see how many upsets and close games there are now in college football! Heck Miami who was vastly undermanned, played the Gators straight up for three quarters. Look at what Skip Holtz is doing! Should Va. Tech and WVU just go fire their coaches?

The Vols will bounce back and I for one, hope Fulmer holds his head high, gets the job done, and whenever he does leave, he leaves on his own terms! Just don't stay as long as Joe!
