To all who are not TT fans...I have a read for you!

Troop is good, but be serious. That's going way too far for someone who doesn't have playcalling experience.

I knew that was a precarious post and anguished over whether I should venture such a shocking proposal. Sorry if I have brought doubt upon my judgement.

Wouldn't that depend on the worth of the employee? I mean, Moss took a 6.25 million dollar pay cut (you read that right) over his base salary for '07 going to the Pats. Think he's got any viable leverage to up that amount any time soon? I'm not making this a direct comparison to the Trooper saga, just pointing out that if you have an employee (whatever the job) and you both know darn well he's got skills that the market will pay him more for than you currently are he's perfectly legit in expecting you to bring his position/pay up to that amount or have the market do it elsewhere. This is NOT to be confused with some dude evaluating his own worth higher than you do. That's an entirely different scenario.

1. So now you know the value Moss puts on a ring.

2. Employees knew that my door was always open if they had a question or problem with their status. They also knew what an ultimatum would get them.

3. If I didn't know their skills and how they related to the market then I was a lousy manager.

This is going to be short and sweet. We just lost an amazing recruiter, a good man, and a guy that almost every player on the team seems to love. There are a lot of people in this thread who seem to be obtaining a lot of glee from this fact. I think that is messed up, to say the least, and while I'm certainly hoping race is not involved I must admit I kind of wonder. Maybe you didn't think he should be the OC, but this kind of unrestrained joy over the loss of a guy who clearly works his butt off for our program definitely lessens my opinion of my fellow fans. How hard is it to wish him the best and let him go with class? Why you would hold so much ill will toward a member of our staff who is probably last or second to last on the list of people who disappointed this season is beyond me.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant... I'm just saying there should be no joy in this, we're losing one of the few guys who actually did his job well: Good position coach, good recruiter, good with the kids. There is no reason for anyone to be joyous that he is gone just because he may not have worn slacks and a sweatervest and clapped politely when his players did well.

I for one do not believe TT could stay here if he or we had wanted him too... Fans here would be debating and questioning his hire as OC next year... There is one head coach at UT right now... This mess was building an open divide in player loyalty to Fulmer, The University of Tennessee and himself...

There is nothing he wore or how he wore that discredited him or the University... He was a good recruiter but we now have to move on without him...He was a good WR coach but we have better and the opportunity to do better.... How he would have been as an OC is right now an open book... Time will tell... I hope he does well... Fulmer has got to pull his Fat out of the Fire.... Appearences are everything to Kids... It will be a wash on this year's recruiting but will make a big difference when we with changes play the season next year... We have got to get our kids heads up... This bowl game is a make or break kinda thing... If we have a good showing and win... WE MUST WIN... then things will begin to turn for the better and it will be a step in the right direction to recovery... As much as I have wanted Fulmer to retire I can say I am glad he is here for this mess (even though he is too blame for some of it) at least for one year... He can pull it together because of his experience and direct ties to the history of UT Football...

You had me up until right there....why pull the race card Mr. Sharpton??? It has no place in a football discussion over a good position coach with no OC experience at a major college football program. :ermm:

It has no place, but I too wondered if it is behind some of the posts I have seen, hopefully not.

Let us bid Tooper Godspeed, may we meet again under more favorable conditions, this was just not the time.

Ok, my TT :twocents:, for what it's worth.

Yes, the players could relate, yes, he seemed to be a good recruiter, yes, he was enthusiastic...BUT, I lost all respect when he met with his players and supposedly said that if he didn't get the OC position here, he was gone. First of all, what business did he have saying that to the players if he wasn't trying to undermine/influence the situation and attempt to turn players against CPF if he didn't get his way? There has been talk in the past of him making sure he got credit for certain recruits coming, when in reality he had little to do with those said recruits coming. I don't care how good someone may be at their respective job, if they are always playing games and trying to upset from within, then I don't want them around. Had a similar situation in my job; I was more than happy to let that person go. Been a much better place around here since. This whole situation reminds me of when I'm in Walmart and pass by the toy section and there is a little kid lying in the floor kicking and screaming because he didn't get his toy. Good riddance, IMO.

There was nothing unfavorable about the conditions. UT needs an OC and Trooper had zero experience. He took an opportunity to advance his career after spending three years on the UT staff. Good for him, and I hope the time and location are the right ones for him to be successful.

UT will be hiring a candidate with previous OC experience. If we do not, then criticism is due for letting a potential candidate leave.

My sentiments exactly. TT deserves no criticism for leaving and CPF deserves no criticism for not throwing a job at him to keep him around. God bless us everyone.

Good enough for me and well said....

I agree with you, what I mean by more favorable conditions is I would like to see him do well at Oky State and come back to UT should the opportunity present itself.

I agree completely. Well said, gentlemen.
