See how just the connotations of the word "ultimatum" lends itself to being viewed negatively regardless of how it actually goes down?

I agree with you though, especially if Okie St has an OC job for him. He should be gone, but only because he's got a better offer. (I'm assuming he's not our next OC when I say that)

I didn't mean to be combative either. Sorry, but it just seemed like a lot of time on semantics. The bottom line is, as you argue, the same. :peace2:

I'd be more concerned over losing top notch recruits if we were better than mediocre. I'd rather see coaching abilities that would get us past mediocrity, even with less talent. It would be even better if we had great coaching along with great talent.

You're right about the semantics. I've just gotten a little twitchy (maybe too twitchy :)) about what's going down with Trooper. Now if, IF, Taylor is guilty of some of the things mentioned on these boards it's one thing. However, the only thing I KNOW is that some guy (Taylor) got offered a promotion at another job. He'd like to stay where he is if he was upgraded there but if not he's going to take the other job. Fercrissake, how is that different from what most of us would do?

If I'm not mistaken, you have the most current knowledge available concerning the situation.

It's probably not much different, but we don't have hundreds of thousands of fans involved while we are in the process of making a career decision.
