People who say things can't or won't happen need to remember a Tuesday night in Movember 1992 when King Johnny was let go. He was UT football at the time and a reverend star from the past.

And he still had allegiance of most of the fan base.

These people have to be about the money and the ticket sales and anything that suffers there will have long term effects on the program.

I don't necessarily agree with this. I think a lot of good coaches are very aware of how much Butch has underachieved. If we take off the orange colored glasses, most coaches would agree he squandered a huge opportunity last year being scared to finish off opponents and how poorly the team has done this year. I bet plenty of good coaches would jump. As already stated, the talent pool is light years ahead of what it was when Butch got here

And of course 10 wins is enough 3 out of every 4 years. The other should be a NC. :)

Here's the quick and dirty, I can guarantee x return on a bond based off the revenue generating power of Neyland stadium, before, during, and after improvements, and guarantee a rate on that bond structure accordingly. People like bonds because they are stable, and you pretty much know exactly what the return is over the given maturation of the bond.

Let's just say, that financial institutions don't look at funding the buyout of a coaching staff, in order to procure a new coaching staff, as the same sort of investment.

Really? You took that as a serious question and a chance to talk bonds and saftey in an investment? Well, of course it's not the same type of investment. I think you miss the point wide right. A program that doesn't have money doesn't make 100 million dollar renovations. It is still a massive investment no matter how you slice that pie or the risk involved. Buying out a coach (or coaches), that's not even in the same stadium (pardon the pun) in terms of figure/investment.

Cornbread...money ain't the issue.

Oh? Do we have an OC that went undefeated in an interim role and plastered Florida and is now guaranteed a job at Arkansas or other big programs ?

Butch is gone this year if a couple things happen. He loses the team, or he loses any more games down the stretch. He loses one to Vandy or UK he is done for sure.

The rest of the teams on our schedule suck. Including USCjr. He done crapped the bed this week so yeah.

No idea what will happen but we either:

1 wait till the talent is gone and we are back to a coach having to rebuild or

2 we can grab a coach while the roster is still in good shape upping our chance for a better one

3 Last he makes big changes to bring in quality asst coaches including a qb coach and works his way off the hot seat.

In reality our admin is cheap and could care less as long as people are spending money so 1 is most likely. Maybe a small mix of 3 added in.

Valid point but I think every coach in the country knows that Jones is a pedestrian coach with an absolute crap offense. I think they would "get it" if a change were made.
