People just don't get what Dooley has to do. He is getting out there and working on recruits in the future also. Everyone needs to relize what a great job he is doing in recruiting. You have Georgia,S Carolina,Alabama,LSU,Arkansas. Their coaches have been there for awhile. They have been working on recruits for 2 years down the road or even longer. It will all pay off for Tennessee people. You will see.

Don't say that ! Look at Kentucky and Ole Miss . Kentucky and Ole Miss had decent teams a few years ago and now look at them.
Say What.. We are tied for last in SEC. We have won ZERO games in the SEC for the first time in school history.. It can't get any worse. Vandy will give us all we can handle and if we lose it, plan on team being down and losing to UK.

Mike Shula was a great recruiter, too.

As a matter of fact, Nick Saban won a NC with Shula's recruits.

Recruiting is just one piece of the puzzle. Game day preparation and management are other pieces.

I agree CDD is doing a good job at recruiting and I agree he had a mountain to climb.

Hopefully we are already at rock bottom and things won't get worse. But the game Saturday was no less than humiliating.

I just hope we aren't in the cycle Alabama went through before they hired Sabin....ala, years of mediocrity.

I don't think anyone disputes Dooley is doing well in recruiting. I have not seen our players make progress despite the adversity of injuries and playing underclassmen. The tackling has not improved and the coverage by our DBs is getting worse. I wish I could see something to hang my hat on going into the offseason to be encourage about or see improvements to make me think some of our players or going to be special next year. I see a bunch of young guys who look too mentally beat up to focus week in and week out.

Look, I like Dooley, ALOT. And I hope we give hime 5 years to prove himself. He needs the time.

But good recruiting does not make a good coach, althoughI think Dooley is both.

Ron Zook was a heckuva recruiter at FL and at Illinois but his coaching? Not so much. You have to do both in this league!

I've seen things improve. I think Wilcox at times either puts the defense in bad calls or they miss assignments. I think at times Worley either wants to score so bad that he forces things or Chaney doesn't call enough plays that are more friendly to his talents. I do think the O-Line is why we are not bowl eligible right now!

One are Two year of players develop mean alot . Actually, I think that Alabama didn't give Shula enough time. Just like you guys want dooley head in 1 1/2 season. When saban got the job, he knew he was coming into a good situation. Lane K ran away from our program, because he knew he was in a bad situation.... Thats the difference:eek:k:

Did you know who Nick Fairley was before 2010? Waiting on a response......

We're winless in the conference. We're looking way up at mediocrity.

I heard about him when he signed with Auburn, before that not really.

My point is, it take time for high school kids to develop. Just because we had some EE, that doesn't mean their ready.

Look at alabama freshman class over 99% is redshirted.

Now, look at Tennessee freshman class over 90% is on the field playing.

Leave the play calling and coaches out of this. Tennessee was not ready this year, but we will see some improvement next year....

There are a few steps a team has to go through before they start winning 1.Loosing(this is were we at) 2. Competing(What we will do next year hopefully we should be doing this now) 3. Breaking Through( you find a way to win those games like USCe and GA) 4.Winning(Beating Alabama, LSU, ARK). We have a long way to go in reality its gonna be maybe after next season before DD get his signature win we arent even competing now and its very rare you go from getting blowed out by 35 and 40 points to winning big games

I would prefer we go through the cycle Alabama went through before they got Saban it looks like it worked. I would prefer they find the right person instead of the right now person I say let him stay 1 more year so we can get his recruits.
