Gentlemen I had a great time at the game. Your fans are by far less rude and obnoxious than Florida fans. I was rather impressed with the kindness showed by man of your fans. I hope you all got a chance to meet some good die hard Southern Miss fans. It was a great game. Obviously not the result I wanted but still a great game. Your team has many things to look positive to. I hope you guys can get the minor kinks worked out before you play Florida next week. Thanks for the last week or so of conversations. Be Easy and as always SMTTT.

Thank you, BYXEagle. I'm glad you got the opportunity to come to Neyland Stadium and watch a game. Just for the record, outside of the SEC, So. Miss is the team I have always pulled for. A lot of respect I have for you guys. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Good luck the rest of the way to USM. I have a question though, what happened to Damion Fletcher? Is he okay? Some USM fans said he was taken to the training room during the 3rd quarter. USM fans were very kind as well. I talked to 3 older USM fans the whole game.

Glad you had a good time in Knoxville and it's always nice to talk football with intelligent fans. Beat Memphis like a redheaded stepchild

Thanks. They don't announce stuff like that over the PA
Yea they didnt really talk about it on the radio either. I was wondering what happened to him in the second half. I went over to the USM board after the game to say good game and good luck and saw it.

Thanks I feel your QBis pretty good talent.
Not really. Our secondary made him look a whole lot better than he is. He is not an accurate passer and makes bad decisions. He is a good athlete but not a good QB. They do have talents on their team in Fletcher, McGrath, their TE and a few others but the Young is not one of them. Our secondary really struggled.

I don't know what game you watched but he made several passes that were spot on and threw several away when he had nowhere to go. He ate us up on the intermediate passes. The kid is a gamer big time.

He had a good game. One game doesnt mean hes a good QB. His season last year and his game against UT Martin means a lot more than one game.

Well I don't know about that as much. But in this game our DB's were mawling their WR's on a couple of plays and were in position most of the game. He played a very good game and made some money passes that were spot on.

Amen Brudda. Quick question for this thread... if the topic has been covered elsewhere I missed it, someone please send me in that direction please.

We were sitting 10 rows up in T behind the SMiss bench and there was a guy (coach?) on the sidelines who, every play, would hold up in the air this 4 foot long whip or stick or cane or something during every play.

Could somebody please tell me what the heck that is about? I'm really curious and nobody around me had any idea.

Thanks for the words guys. Young is alright he's still making some really bad decisions. Fletcher got cramped and had to be put on an IV drip for the 3rd quarter. The football players are used to practicing in this ridiculous heat, and the cool air kinda put their bodies in shock. We were having some serious cramping problems. To answer your question, the guy with the "Irish Walking Stick" is Father Tommy the team Priest. There is a story behind why he holds up the cane. Years ago when USM played TCU in Hattiesburg and TCU was no 9 in the country, he told the players when they looked in the air and saw the cane in the air to remember no frogs come in and stink it up in Hattiesburg. So from then on out it has been used as motivation for the team. If they make a stupid play you will see him hit them on the helmet with it.

As for memphis 37-19-1 Series record in favor of USM. I think we can find a way to take them to the woodshed for you.

Ah. Thank you for that explanation.

He stopped raising it 1/2 way through the 4th, but I didn't see him smack anybody with it.

Thanks, doesn't surprise me about the gator fans. I've been to Gainesville and they are the worst out there. I'm still a little surprised when I run into a gator fan with class.

By the way, you guys have a great program, I've respected it for years. Best non-BCS program IMO, except for Notre Dame I guess, but I don't have many good things to say about the irish.

Good luck rest of the season.
