TO all players

that's kind of a ridiculous original post. they're kids between the ages of 18-22, a lot of them don't know how to properly handle the emotions of this situation. they should have only invited the captains and/or older players to the conference. inviting everyone was a bad idea, especially the players who were distraught. i'm no psychologist, but expecting every player to handle the situation in a positive, forward thinking manner is a little too much. yesterday must have been a very overwhelming and distressful day for all the players, coaches, and assistants involved. not everyone deals with things like this the same way, and some people get angry to hide sorrow. it's just nature to handle things like this the way that some of them did.

I think that is a fair assessment.

Two of the "older players," R. Foster and Briscoe, made the biggest asses of themselves.

Just more excuses, that is what the problem is. So lets just make an excuse for them so they can act any way they want to. Sounds a lot like the coach that we fired yesterday.

That display put on by the players at the presser yesterday was just another example of the lack of discipline and character that this team has exhibited throughout the year. Again, it falls on the shoulders of the head coach. Them having those feelings is one thing. The fact that they felt that acting them out in that manner at that place and time is compltely another.

To echo what has been said. I would have a hard time with this team had they NOT stood up for their coach. These guys came here to play football for UT and CPF. They have a tremendous amount of respect for the man. Give them time to get over this major change in their football life.

A proper way for them to have stood up for thier coach would have been for them to kept thier BIG:-D mouths shut and go out on the field and try to win the final three games.

They will, dont worry. To think these young men were not very emotional or wouldnt be emotional is idiotic. I dont know your age but there are few young men who would not act similar about their coach being fired. This is their life rightr now. Right or wrong it is their life currently.

THANK YOU SOMEONE ELSE WITH A BRAIN ON THE SUBJECT!!!:clapping:

On your original post, do you really think they dont realize that they have not played well? Hell Berry has said it as well as other players. These young men are hurting right now and it is going to take a few days for them to settle in on the reality that their coach will be gone. I think they deserve us giving them a break.

Coaches get fired all the time. You don't see the alleged captains anywhere else making fools of themselves in nationally televised press conferences. That said, I am looking forward to Senior Day more this season than any in recent memory. The fact that both Fosters and Briscoe will never run through the "T" again makes me as happy as anything that has happened with the football program in a long time.

Find one place that has had their captains show up at the press conference announcing their coach's termination acting like jackasses.

Happier than the departure of CPF? I didn't think anything could make you that happy. Except maybe that little lady in your avatar.

The disdain you have for young men who come play here is your right. So have at it.

Ramone Foster and Josh Briscoe have both been openly disdainful of the fans and the university. I'm just returning the favor.

More excuses, so you defend the way they acted with "they were just emotional". Good lord this crap is getting absurd. Hey if i was a captain on this team i would tell everyone of them "hey, guys we can't blame anyone but ourselves right now. We hate that CPF is gone but we have to play hard the rest of the season and win out and send him off with pride".

But they ALWAYS get player and former player reaction.
And, with the possible exception of the street gang posing as basketball team at Indiana last year, I can't think of anywhere that the players have ever come across any worse than the petulant loudmouths in orange yesterday.

Bless their little hearts!!! I feel so sorry for them. Wow, getting to play football at Tennessee isn't enough, they get free room and board, full ride schollies, where most of us had to pay $14,000 a year to go to school, and the chance to play pro ball, if you are good enough. Makes my heart break. Man Up!!! Life is hard

Only a fool would think that something like this has not been said by the team leaders. Berry has said as much already. And Im not making excuses, I said I understand it. I'm surprised you act like this is so out of line and surprised by it.

This is the most idiotic post of all time. They were given NOTHING. They earned their scholarship and and if you dont think so your fooling yourself.

Find me another example of an alleged team leader shouting down his athletic director in a press conference. Than again, I shouldn't be surprised. You're among the clueless here who fully supported giving Prince Phillip an extra three years of running the program into the ditch.

I didnt hear them say that yesterday. Maybe they have if so why are they afraid to say it in public. Just another example of them not wanting to MAN UP.
