Wow, that's kinda surprising

Perhaps a bit but not much

ESPN is bleeding money. Probably realized they had overspent on the CFP rights and saw the opportunity to claw back a little cash.

Wouldn't shock me for them to kill the ACC deal in the next few months also. Lessen their liabilities and all. Will put the final nail into that conference.

It's the Mouse. They're teaming with Fox and TNT, via ESPN, to make sports either a separate subscription from other channels OR a Hulu (Mouse owned) exclusive.
