Yea, it’s a good offense, but the ACC defenses are still not the same as the SEC, especially in the West.

I liked Morris. I would have been ok with him as coach if he could have hired a high level DC or recruiter, like Marion Hobby. But he is going to have a tougher time with his offense at Arkansas.

Will he? Bobby Petrino had some pretty high octane offenses at Arkansas while he was there. It's not impossible if you recruit to the system. His success will be determined by his defensive staff (as you alluded to).

I’m familiar with Mallett...we were in on him and might’ve landed him if Fulmer had hired DeBord. The point was that Petrino was (and is) great at adjusting his offense to his quarterback...and not so great at recruiting. The model for your new HC. Offense will represent regardless.

Petrino recruited decently for Arkansas. While a couple of years were not great, one year, his class was 16th, which is probably the highest at Arkansas in a while. Maybe Morris can do it as well.

But yes, I think Morris will have a tougher time at Arkansas than his previous stops. He also won’t have the same caliber athletes.

Morris just landed his 3rd 4* DE in the 2018 class. I’d say he’s doing fine.

Yeah that was the highest rated class we’ve signed since ratings started IIRC, but the ironic thing is it turned out to be a terrible class with transfers and grades/off the field problems and not many lasted to be major contributors from it.

Steve Caldwell has been an awesome recruiter both times he’s been here. Bielema never should have gotten rid of him when he got here.

I don't think Knox is coming here. Arkansas has always been the constant in his recruitment. I think there are some WR prospects that are being recruited that havent got out to the media yet.
