I know this first hand because a couple of the BA assistant coaches at the time were family friends. They had a great relationship with UT coaches and were honest about both to the staff. One of them told me about Land, "he's liable to pancake his man on 1st and 2nd down, then sack his own QB on 3rd down."

Both were just very overrated. Swords' dad had some connection with The Tennessean and got them to really hype him up. Obviously, neither did anything at Alabama and Texas, respectively, which justified the notion that they were overrated…as well as Tennessee’s indifference towards both as recruits.

The Vols are going to keep chipping away at 2027 Oregon WR commitment Kesean Bowman, and he has made it clear to us that he is going to keep listening. He plans to visit Knoxville routinely, and Tennessee will try to get him back as often as they can. We will see if he makes it in this weekend. Either way, we don’t see him ending up in Eugene longterm.

The offensive staff has talked with him a lot about the belief in the downfield passing game being a match for his skill set, and Chris Brazzell putting on a show last Saturday certainly bolstered those conversations.
