'27 TN WR Kesean Bowman (Oregon commit)

These posts about Pope didn’t age well. 3rd straight year with a WR in top 85 overall rankings (not WR rankings). 6 WR’s in top 250 overall in the three years.
Were the posts about his recruiting tho? He's recruited fine. Think the people frustrated with him are more worried about the WR play recently and looking to this season. Almost losing probably the best WR on this year's team entering the portal in the offseason didn't help optics either. But the recruiting has been there

Yes. Yes, it was about recruiting.

Nice. Pope is dropping the ball with instate kids now.

😆

Pope to date, hasn't been an elite recruiter yet. Time to prove that wrong.
Maybe my reading comprehension is off tonight.

I’m reading this thread- not others. So, yes, about recruiting.

No. It wasn’t. There are a lot of posts on this board, so I’m sure someone has complained about his recruiting, but the consensus concern lately has always been about development not recruiting.
On this board? Try this thread. You guys didn’t go back and look. Don’t jump on me for simply following the thread.

Well, I mean two things can be true at once.

- There are people incorrectly claiming a recruiting deficiency. Obviously true.

- There are people reasonably questioning coaching and development. Also true.

The recruiting complaints don’t stand up to scrutiny.
The coaching complaints appear to be reasonable.

I didn’t say anything about questioning development. I opened a thread and commented on the posts in the thread. I even stated “these posts.”

Then, a few people jumped to conclusions about it and became very adamant. Kind of funny that I pointed out that my response was very clear, and crickets from those who responded. Maybe time to back away for a while.

Well you’re right so no need to back away

Recruiting last two classes have been fine, so I doubt it would be about these two right? Might be about not having recruited a high schooler that is still here or gone pro from him tho if I were to assume
Too many Vol fans completely ignore the limitations & negative environment this staff had to recruit under during the first 3 years.

Well, I went to sleep so hard to respond when you’re in bed. If you were referring to just the posts in this thread, that’s understandable, but “these posts” could have meant literally anything because there have been a lot of posts about Kelsey Pope in this forum so that doesn’t provide hardly any context needed to know what you’re referring to.

His dad was a great football player, but a total headcase if my memory was correct. Also very little love for TN in his dad's recruitment.

So, yes - there are posts concerning both. In this thread.

Then let’s just throw out threads. My post was pretty damn clear. That’s ok- people make up their minds and don’t care about the actual discussion points.

I went back and reviewed every post in this thread. Didn’t see a discussion about development.
I jumped in late, but this is the one I was thinking of -

Idk about this thread or every post but criticism of Pope has always been development. He’s elite at recruiting and I know some will push back on that but Georgia tried hard to get him from us. If he’s at a program like that he would be one of the best recruiters in the country. Tennessee is just starting to really hit stride as far as recruiting.
