Rivals 3 Stripe Camp St. Louis: Top underclassmen

Recruiting Wrap: Sheffield is committed to Tennessee.

Performance: The 2019 Vols commitment is listed in the Rivals.com database as an all-purpose back and while he was smooth running the ball in the tackling drill he was also very impressive as a route-runner. Sheffield has quick feet and can change directions very quickly without losing speed, making him a matchup nightmare in space for linebackers and safeties.

At The Opening Regional Atlanta in March, Sheffield measured 5-9.5, 167. He ran a 4.70 40 and a 4.02 shuttle (No. 2 time at the camp)...also had a 36.1" vertical jump and tossed the power ball 35'.

Visiting for UMass game

Also, fresh off a visit last weekend to Alabama, Tennessee will also host 2019 wideout TJ Sheffield. The Independence (Tenn.) receiver remains a “soft verbal commit” to the Vols, but hasn’t been shy about visiting other schools since the summer. This weekend is a good opportunity for Tennessee to really lean on Sheffield, who hasn’t been in Knoxville since the Alabama game a year ago. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound receiver has started off his junior season nicely, leading the team with 25 catches for 381 yards and three touchdowns.

Yet we keep him still. We may not have a class left if he stays the whole season.
