‘23 TN WR Ayden Greene (Virginia Tech commit)

The solid verbal podcast mentioned that this guy is an emerging dude. He has 8 receptions for 148 yards at Virginia tech this year

They speculated that since he is from Knoxville it could make sense for him to come back home with his coach fired.

They mentioned that between UCLA and Virginia tech the most too fascinating players into the transfer portal are Nico and this guy.

Let's bring him home!

WR is not a place that we are not lacking and we have a stacked class coming in. Would probably not see the field here and would have playing opportunities elsewhere.

Why would he transfer here to ride the pine?

Brazell is NFL bound this year. So our room would be full of two a junior, two redshirt sophmores, and two sophmores is RJax and TSmith, a R-Freshman in Dodson, and the incoming freshman class.

Ayden would be a senior I believe. Local kid and when I saw him in the VT vs uscjr game, he was about the only one making plays for them.

Id welcome him here just so we can have an older guy in the room. Wouldn't hurt the rotation. He has talent.

Wouldn’t crack the rotation.

That’s a double negative. So you’re saying WR is a spot that we are lacking? Sorry I know grammar police…take me to jail.

Assuming all of the 3 freshmen + Jefferson + 4/14 return and we sign the 4 existing 2026 WR commitments, I don't see a need for a portal WR. We'll have quite possibly the most talented - by star rankings + returning production - WR corps ever with plenty of bodies. IMO resources will be better spent elsewhere...

Safety please!

Yep. I see the portal needs this offseason as: Safety, CB/NB, and DLine (one DT and one SDE).

I don't think we'll be looking for much on offense, unless we can find a QB who doesn't mind being a backup safety blanket in case of injury. Maybe a RB if someone transfers.

But my primary target would be a big time safety.

Another thing is, the WR portal is robust every year. Perhaps the most of any position. If there were need to take a portal receiver we can do better.

Yeah like, we'd welcome him sure. But these coaches have a budget for how much NIL they can throw around and they've made it clear that they're building through high school recruiting. Don't get your hopes up buddy

That’s more experience than we have right now.

And look how we’re doing.

Ayden is right where he should be- a North Knoxville kid out playing Cam Seldon haha.
