In my opinion, we gotta have more stamina than anything else. More snaps will mean more injuries. Also, because of our Hurry Up Offense, we don’t sub that much. Our starters will get way more “snaps” on an average offensive position. It’s like basketball, where they won’t sub unless it’s a turnover or timeout. Transfers happen a ton in basketball because the roster spot is limited. Because of this, I’ll predict we will have more transfers leaving/going. Mostly RBs, WR, and QB .

While substitution is true, I'd argue the three positions noted will have more transfers in than out. Quick comparison to 2020, we had 5 players over 500 yards from scrimmage vs 2 in 2020. We had 7 players over 400 yards from scrimmage vs 3 in 2020. Players want to play and our offense puts the ball in players hands.

I doubt we have many WRS, RBS, and QBS leave unless they aren't getting the playing time they think they deserve. I see more defensive players leaving than offense because of the amount of snaps the defense plays right now. Also there is no scientific proof that more snaps means more injuries. The more quality depth we have to more we can sub players in and out on both sides of the ball. Our offense moves fast so you can alternate series and the defense can sub when the offense does on the other side of the ball so I would not worry about it. The portal is more for unhappy kids and kids who think they can get paid more or get paid at all.

I wonder about this... As a defensive player had you rather be on the sideline watching or had you rather be on the field playing? Me I had regather be on the field and would work extra heard to be in shape to enjoy it.

I think the most at-risk position is second string long snapper. That role is difficult in this type of football. We will be a destination for kick holders, though.

they need to make the transfer portal only juniors or seniors the schools have a big investment in the players. and the players need to learn their word is worth something make a boy become a man just my openion and maybe mine only.

I can talk out of both sides of my mouth on this one. I am leaning toward making the offers variable for number of years from 1 to 4, and then hold both sides to that. The deal they enter a school on defines when they are portal eligible without sitting out a year.

Just like a contract. These kids want to pretend to be pros, then make it that way. Violation of contract should lead to penalties (like a coach buyout, the lawsuits we see, etc.).

So, because we are running so many plays on offense and running up and down the field scoring points, the offensive players are more apt to leave? This doesn't seem logical.

And......does anyone else find it coincidental that there is a rush to the portal between end of season evaluations and National Signing Day?

Anyone worth their salt would rather be in the fight but being in shape can only take you so far in as far as stamina. Try running a marathon each week and then say you enjoy it after a year.

some dudes look at more plays as more opportunities for injury. Coming here makes a skill player 25-33% more likely to have a major injury than going somewhere that doesn’t run tempo every series and where depth is better.

I see what you are talking about - qb's will be leaving because their arms will be tired from throwing so many touchdowns, wr's will be leaving because they are scoring too many touchdowns and getting too many receiving yards. Seems to make sense.
