TN vs. Auburn *Official Game Thread*

Crompton's performance tonight saved his job, not sure if I should be glad he made some nice throws and a couple of TDs or be worried Kiffin is going to send him back out there.

Sorry but I'm not a believer in CLK yet. I know he's dealing mainly with players recruited by Fulmer, but Saban wasn't this bad in his first year. Bench Crompton!

and if our brillent wr's hadnt had about 6 dropps we would have won.

There were a ton of passes that just sucked. Just because you throw in the general direction of a WR doesn't mean he should catch it. Hancock had some flat out drops. Jones missed at least one he needed to have.

What happened to allow them to suddenly start catching balls in the 4th quarter?

i know it dont matter but why didnt we get to kick the extra point,,thought you got to do that even if there was no time on the clock.

If Cunningham kicks the ball in the endzone for a touchback, we pull this game out... Lincoln gets silly on the first field goal attempt and gets a dead duck...

ST let us down as bad as Crompton did

Trooper did a good job at Okla St. as co-OC. But we went with that Richmond guy. Bad call for 'ol Phil.

it was the whole AD's opinion though on him if i'm correct (and most of the fanbase)

and hindsight's 20/20; before then all the guy had done was coach at Tulane; would you really give him the keys to the offense after that?

There is no way you can blame this game entirely on Crompton. There are so many areas where we are deficient.

I'm sorry but even with the poor special teams play the dynamics of the game would be totally different with just an average QB. you just can't abuse your defense the entire game and expect a different result. JC needs to man up, be a team player show some character and admit his limitations.

That was a nice play with Nukese on first possession. Why did we not see more of him at qb later in the game?

TD
Tennessee

missed kick and FG, hurt us

Totally agree. Even with the bad QB play we still could have won this game. Missed field goal 23-26, field goal on this last TD 24-26. A two point game loss or even 1 point if they made a two point conversion. Someone had better get a grip on the special teams. QB play is nothing we can do anything about unfortunately. Sometimes he is on and most times he is off.

I don't understand how Crompton only plays decently when the game is all but out of reach. Pressure seems to kill him when it the game is close. But if the game is all but out of reach, he plays marginally ok.

Is it me or does Crompton play better in a hurry-up, and I know that is not saying much. Maybe he doesn't have time to overthink the play.

I have to let up off of JC a little bit....somehow he did settle down a bit and made some decent throws...but I still think CLK has to open up the competition, if for no other reason than to see if Stephens can give the offense a little spark.

tenn would have busted aubs bubble if we had a qb and no babbies like warren. that stupid warren, If we had scored 7 instead of 3 because of warren to lazy crybaby to get into possission, that last score would have tied the game thanks warren alcoa handout.
