Long time reader but rarely post. I hope this doesn't violate any board rules, but it is for an important cause.
As Tennessee fans, we've spent the last ten years getting our hearts broke over and over. There's no telling the amount of cardiovascular damage we have all suffered. Who can forgot the intense shock felt when the Coach-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named left us in the dead of night. Then there was the pain as we learned his replacement was coming to us from La. Tech with a losing record of 17-20. I don't know if I can speak for everyone, but I actually clutched my chest in agony when I heard a Tennessee coach boast about winning the championship of life and rolling out the motto “five star hearts.”
The last decade has been tough and our hearts have taken a beating. There’s hope in the future though. Coach Fulmer’s back on campus and it looks like we actually have a football coach with Jeremy Pruitt. But winning will also bring its share of stress on the heart.
No matter whether we are winning or losing the stress on our hearts will be there. I'm walking in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk this weekend in Chattanooga. My Heart Walk team is for my organization's Tennessee fans but it hasn't been doing too good. So I'm seeking donations from any and all Tennessee fans.
All donations go towards supporting the AHA. I'm calling all vols to consider giving what ever you can. Whether that's $5 or $50, it all helps. Plus if my Tennessee Vols Heart walk team raises another $400 then we'll likely go on to out raise my organizations's Georgia and Alabama Heart walk teams. And if we can't beat them on the football field this year, at least we can beat them at something.
