ASU did earn it. I won't say that Michigan sucked. Michigan was playing them even at first. And then they came storming back later in the game.

That defense that you say sucked did force 3 turnovers, kept ASU under 400 total yards, and almost won them game for them.

I feel icky defending Michigan, but saying that they played like crap is taking away too much from App. State.

Maybe the reason Southern Miss cant "compete" with them is because they wont accept southern miss's challenge to a game.. . and a side note southern miss doesn't get conference opportunities every week to play ranked games. After the upset this weekend, sports media will be on the lookout for something big, get your game face on. Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime.

Yea, they are going to attempt a FG but Berry will jump up with his 78 inch verticle and swat it through our uprights nearly 85 yards behind the line of scrimmage and by rule USM will get a negative field goal.

Hate to say it, but this will not be an easy win. Southern Miss is a good team, and will not be the least intimidated about the trip to Neyland. I think we're going to have a lot of trouble stopping their run, and they'll lock us down offensively. IMO this will be a game shortened by the run, low scoring.

Ive never been to Neyland Stadium and I am counting on it being highly entertaining game to watch... if the rain last night affected southern miss's passing, then we should have a close matchup. We will see this weekend.

Neyland is a great atmosphere, but this weekend won't be its showcase. We are going to be nervous, tight, fidgety - the players, coaches and especially the crowd. And unfortunately this isn't one of the games that we wait for all offseason. No offense to Southern Miss, because I really respect their program, but this isn't going to be the environment you would get 10 years ago when we would play FL, GA or AL, back when Tennessee was a powerhouse and Neyland was an intimidating place to play.

If we fall behind early the vultures are going to start circling.

However, if Tennessee does manage not to come out flat, which would surprise me, and get a nice lead early, the crowd will get into it.

I think our young guys will be intimidated by Neyland. No disrespect to Tennessee but the returning starters played in front of the drunks that hang out down there in the swamp. I don't think it will rattle them. How's your student section look for UT games?

We try. Not sure who you may have met. We didn't set up our usual tailgate as many folks were at funerals and tending to some sick family members. It was kind of a weird weekend.

Looking forward to Saturday.
