TN upsets Auburn for SEC title

I wouldn't say Auburn wouldn't be able to "get back up" after an emotional Iron Bowl win. If anything they would be more juiced. They would be playing for a shot in the playoffs. You aren't going to catch a team sleep walking in Atlanta. IF we make it, we will have to beat anyone we play straight up. And let's face it, we aren't beating Auburn or Alabama.

Their offense would play faster on turf. Considering that their strong suit, it would toughen the challenge.

We will not be able to seal the edges. Not a good match up. At this point no West team is a good match up.

Tennessee matched up well against TAMU. If the Vols had not turned the ball over six times during regulation, they would have won.

Anyway, the Gators have to lose one more SEC game before all this hair pulling and jumping about.

An oral history of LSU's vanquishing of Tennessee in the 2001 SEC Championship Game | Outkick The Coverage
:zeitung_lesen:

In 2001 Tennessee finished the regular season at 10-1. The blemish being the “Hobnail Boot” loss to Georgia. In a game played on Dec. 1, the fourth-ranked Vols upset second-ranked Florida, 34-32, in Gainesville. That win earned Tennessee the SEC Eastern Division title, and a spot in the SEC Championship Game. If the Vols won the following week in Atlanta, they would play top ranked Miami for the BCS National Championship at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

well, a 3 loss team has no shot at it, SEC champ or not, so it doesn't matter if we care or not.

Of course. My post was in reference to Bama's/ the SEC's chances to have a team in the playoff. If Bama still makes it to the Playoff I don't care.

An SEC championship would be a great season.

You guys daj2576 spends more time than most studying data relevant to College football so I would think twice before you just discard his input. I value his opinion.

Think about it. Every time TN plays a BIG 10 team in the bowl, we destroy them. Those teams aren't good that Mich is beating.

What about Michigan beating Wisconsin? The same team that beat LSU.

You're the one speaking in absolutes like a nimrod, so you can GTFO, you don't own this thread.

Aww, let him rant. Just another Cubs fan who is still celebrating after a 108-year drought. Like it's been repeated: "Anything can happen!" :whistling:

Bama will dismantle the East rep. UF can have it as far as I'm concerned. Ideal scenario is UF beats LSU and loses to FSU and let them face Nick and his steamroller. I still think it's highly likely the Vols lose one more though. Hope they prove me wrong.

They will prove you wrong, no worries

Sounds like gameday analysts are correct when they claim the SEC East is normally weak and lame, this season they say it is trash.

We have WAY too many injuries to beat anyone from the west. We are very thin along the defensive line now. We wouldn't be able to stop Auburn's run game.

auburn isn't beating bama

Has anyone been watching what Bama is doing?

bammer rolled over an overmatched Vol team depleted with injuries at Neyland. I did see that. So did every other Vol fan.

What I also saw, but you apparently missed, is that bammer only beat Ole Miss by 5 points, surrended 30 to Arkansas, and was tied 0-0 with LSU in the fourth and would have lost that one had LSU had a QB with a pulse.

Other than our game, they really haven't looked so unbeatable.

So yes, Auburn could beat them. Try to get out of your tiny little bubble every now and then and see the bigger picture. :hi:

...They trashed a decent and very talented USC and dominated A&M, pulling away in the 4th. Also, they missed a FG and went out on downs on a Kiff bone headed 4th and 1 from a gun against LSU...could have put up 20. They beat AU...
Besides, if AU QB isn't 100%, GA may take them out today.

Sure did. Against MSU. And someone above posted that they "dominated" Tamu. No, they beat them comfortably. It was still a game late in the 3rd quarter...that's not "domination".

I'm not saying Auburn will be favored. I am saying bammer is beatable. Saban has only gone undefeated once in his entire career. This could be Auburn's year to do it again.

I was talking about Auburn....and sarcastically.
