TN upsets Auburn for SEC title

What do you think about this. I for one think it is possible and our best shot at an SEC title.

We win out beating UK, Mizzu, and Vandy.

Auburn also wins out with wins over UGA, non conference cup cake, and then an Iron Bowl upset over Bama. If that happens, we play Auburn in Atlanta for the SEC title. I like this match up much better than Bama rematch.

I think this would present a chance for an upset in Atlanta given Auburn will have just won their "super bowl" by beating Bama six days earlier. It's hard for any team to get back up after the huge high of beating a rival for the division title as we know from 2001 (beating UF last game of season to win the East, then losing in an upset to a 3 loss LSU in the SEC title game).

It could happen! Let's enjoy these last few weeks of football and the fact that our team still has a shot at a conference title.

auburn isn't beating bama

Has anyone been watching what Bama is doing?

We will not be able to seal the edges. Not a good match up. At this point no West team is a good match up.

If we are fortunate and win out, we won't be playing Auburn. I always think positive myself when fantasizing. The last two commits are headscratchers and not the type of players that get you to the SECCG.

The 85 Bears lost a game. The parity between bama and the rest of college football is almost nonexistent. Outside of Michigan and OSU, I don't see anyone being able to realistically challenge them......especially this auburn team.

I know your scenario is a long shot.
But, just imagine how much fun it would be.
As someone who lives in Atlanta, I would be ecstatic!

Thank you. I concede it is a long shot, but it would be much more exciting than facing Bama. Plus, it would be great to see Bama miss out on Atlanta.

We match up better with them.. Although i'm not sure how well they'd be able to stop the run. I'm worried about stopping Kentucky's run game this week.. They haven't played the run very well all year.

What's crazy is it would be an SEC-less playoff if we beat Auburn in the conference championship.

Bama will dismantle the East rep. UF can have it as far as I'm concerned. Ideal scenario is UF beats LSU and loses to FSU and let them face Nick and his steamroller. I still think it's highly likely the Vols lose one more though. Hope they prove me wrong.

I'm focused on UK. Guess folks ignored both UK and Vandy on TV yesterday? We can lose any one or more of the games left on our schedule. UK is serious this year. UT better not consider these last games a gimme like the fans are doing or we're gonna get spanked.

Love it just for the idea it leaves Bama out of SECCG and forcing little Nicky to apply the Lou Holtz Assocative Win Rule of college football to say why they deserve to be in CFP regardless of who wins the SEC

A loss to either UK or Vandy is very possible. Tennessee hasn't played well enough to overlook anyone except middle of the road OVC teams.. Both those teams like to run the football. It's going to come down to how well they stop it against each of those teams. Turnovers have killed us this year too. Do that a couple of times versus these teams and it's Carolina all over again..

Don't sleep on the Mizzou passing game. With our secondary, that one is also a worry.

I just can't see them losing that one, even if it's close somehow. Barnett will pitch a tent in their backfield, their oline can't block wind..

Everyone matches up better with "them" when "them" is the alternative to 2016 Alabama.
