Anybody who's studied genetics knows that with enough inbreeding, color blindness is inevitable. Can't really blame them.

Somebody in the media should go ask everyone with decision making powers at Alabammer (Satan, AD, SID, etc) what the reason was for denying Tennessee's request to wear orange jerseys. We would all like to know and they would have to prove to the world how petty they are.

If nothing else, reporters could ruffle some Bama feathers with constant questions about his decision.

I don't understand why Bama wouldn't want to let us. It's a good freaking tradition. I really hope UT is above that and lets/asks Alabama to wear crimson next year. I wonder what Bama fans thoughts are on this.

I personaly dont see what the big deal is. If they want to wear the jerseys who cares? What difference does it make. UA/Saban obviously have some reason but it is beyond my understanding. If anything, all this does is fire up the Vols just a little more than they already were.
RTR!!!

Why in the piss would Alabama be scared if we were wearing orange jerseys?

Jonathan Crompton is still Jonathan Crompton in orange or white, and Alabama is still an incredible team in crimson. Jersey color would have no effect on this game. Ask Georgia what "edge" a jersey might provide against Alabama.

I think even Bama fans respect tradition enough to want the orange jerseys... maybe there will be a backlash of bad pub and they'll change their mind.

If you watch the way Saban interacts with people it's pretty obvious that's one very insecure dude. This decision is consistent with his personailty

UA athletics director Mal Moore owned up to the denial with a statement tonight: "(UT athletics director) Mike (Hamilton) and I had a good conversation this morning and I told him that it is our desire to maintain the custom of the visiting team wearing their visiting jerseys. We'll continue to wear our white jerseys when we visit Knoxville next year."

The reaction thus far in this thread to the Vols wearing Orange Jerseys on the road vs. Alabama is the main reason that Tennessee does not wear BLACK, blue, purple, gray, etc... We are Tennessee and we are Orange.

.

ORANGE & WHITE.
To me, it just doesnt get any prettier than seeing Neyland packed in orange, and just a little tiny area in an opposing color.
I bought my daughter one of the new black Adidas jackets at the Bookstore prior to the GA game. She said CLK looks cool in the black, but the team should stay all Orange & White. Agreed.
I thought the all orange jerseys & pants were wicked!

There is a very good and valid reason as to why UT was denied today the right to wear the Orange jersey.

Because it's ugly as heck and were trying to save the eyes of all the viewers both at the stadium and watching on TV. :)

BRING IT, it's BAMA WEEK!!!

we wearin the orange pants, then? mal, saban and co. just don't want any percieved 'positive publicity' for us by "allowing us" to wear the orange jerseys, imo. i would def. bring it up if we win, if i were kiffin.

For a school that is always yapping about "tradition" this and "tradition" that you'd think Alabamastan would be all over a real throwback to the Bryant days. Guess not....

Newbie Bammer here, but I lurk pretty much all season long. Great forum.

I'd like to see Orange vs. Crimson jerseys simply because this game always defines autumn, football season, and college football. UT/UA is always a big day. The colors contrast well enough, IMHO, and represent the SEC well year in and year out.

I won't be talking smack before or after, win or lose but I wanted to weigh in on this.

Here's to an injury-free game. 27-13 Tide, in case I don't post again. :hi:
