No big deal. ESPN always uses their own rankings in these recruiting articles.Of course they had to call a composite 5-star a 4-star. But it’s a solid write-up, and the clip of Heupel speaking is very good.![]()
Tennessee adds four-star two-way recruit Moa
Tennessee added its second top-100 pledge of the week in four-star two-way prospect Salesi Moa, No. 35 in the 2026 ESPN 300.www.espn.com
What is amazing is that the Sneed(#512 by 247 ranking) story is the top story on 247 sports today, and yet they barely mention the fact that UT landed 2 much more highly rated recruits (Moa #45 and Wyatt#48) this week. Sneed leaving UT has been anticipated for the last 6 months, not really significant news. No big deal! Moa was the big surprise, but good UT news is no news on some of these sports sites!Hate to lose a good player but honestly glad hes gone ahead and finally done it. I was really sick of his constant flirting with other schools. Be gone.
They are desperately trying to push the Bill Belichick narrative like all the media is. Even On3 is raving about how he has a top 20 class but they have 35 commits (most of any FBS program) with a blue chip ratio of 23% which is awful. What is amazing is that the Sneed(#512 by 247 ranking) story is the top story on 247 sports today, and yet they barely mention the fact that UT landed 2 much more highly rated recruits (Moa #45 and Wyatt#48) this week. ESPN’s rankings are absolutely terrible, I mean they are all over the place on guys, could be like a 5 star everywhere else and they got him a high 3 lol. I don’t care where they have our players ranked(high or low) because they are fools that are a waste of space in recruiting rankings! No big deal. Other than Luginbill maybe. No one really cares anything about their ratings. Tom isn’t great either but he’s been doing it so damn long and has a lot of experience around several different levels of football. Kind of just an add on service that they make money off of.ESPN’s rankings are absolutely terrible, I mean they are all over the place on guys, could be like a 5 star everywhere else and they got him a high 3 lol. Even Lug now doesn’t get around or see much. He does less a job doing recruiting than most of us do. They never were really good, but last few years they just fell off a cliff and like you said it’s just another way for them to try and make some money.Other than Luginbill maybe. He might be ok at UNC but I wasn’t worried if he went to Florida. In the end I don’t think he’s a P4 type player so I don’t think he stays at UNC all that long either. I might be totally wrong, but I don’t think he will be all that good in college.
I’ve loved recruiting for a long time. So I’ve watched plenty of tape on good TE’s. They usually are pretty impressive against good comp. As I’ve stated before, Sneed plays against crap competition with small schools, Just like I think the same thing with Curtis when alls said and done! Now yes, I’ve seen some pretty good players come out of the small schools in TN, HOWEVER when they do they are usually head and shoulders the absolute BEST players on the field at every single game. Wyatt was like that playing for Webb(bell buckle) he was the best player on the field every second he was on the field. Sneed I’ve never seen be the best player on the field during his games no matter what position he was playing and I’ve said the same with Curtis who should when playing his low level competition have the most yards in the state and I don’t even think he was top 10 with that. I was way more impressed with the kid from Sevierville just like I was their TE Jude from Sevierville. I’m sure i might end up wrong on both these kids and I’ve been wrong thousands of times in my life, but watching them either in person or film I’ve not been impressed for them being 4 and 5 stars and I played against the likes of Westmoreland/Eddie Moore and even a scrimmage against Troy Fleming. When on the field they were small school guys, but they were the best players on the field the entire time.Out of curiosity, based on what? You out here studying film of all the HS TEs that play at the P4 level?
