'27 TN RB David Georges

I remain thoroughly unconvinced that this means anything regarding DG's recruitment.

Is it going to guarantee his commitment? Likely not. But to say it means nothing regarding his recruitment is a bit silly. You mean to tell me that Tennessee’s brand new apparel sponsor, who has increased their footprint in college athlete sponsorships, now funding and supporting the high school where DGG plays football is going to mean nothing? You think they picked that school to pour resources into and will be fine with seeing zero ROI on that? Unlikely.

Yes. I think it means nothing.

Well, respectfully, I think you’re wrong. I will reinforce the idea that it doesn’t guarantee his commitment. But you are saying it means “nothing.” Think it’s a strong likelihood that he becomes an Adidas-sponsored athlete now, and Adidas isn’t going to be the interested in letting him go to a Nike school. That is certainly “something”.

You may be correct but Jeremiah Smith is an Adidas client and plays for a Nike School..

He’s the famous example that every points to right now, but I’m pretty sure he signed that deal with Adidas and committed to Ohio State well before Adidas started to make this bigger push into NIL. What I mean is, Adidas courting Tennessee and Penn State to become Adidas schools is a recent action and an example of them planting their flag in the ground to more seriously compete with Nike in CFB.

You don’t spend as much money as they have the past 1-2 years and not expect results. Again, doesn’t guarantee anything before someone tries to old takes expose me in a few months, but it doesn’t take a genius to see them purposefully inking a multi-year partnership with Baylor High School, out of all schools in Tennessee, to put 2+2 together….

Smith signed the deal in July 2025 ... Doesn't mean Georges will sign with OSU also but contradicts your point that Adidas wouldn't want the athletes they sign to play for a Nike school.

In the end every Vol fan wants Georges to sign with Tennessee... But CAUTION is necessary...

While it’s true he could still play at OSU as an Adidas athlete, the flexibility it will allow Tennessee with his NIL will be big here.

It’s what shifted the dynamic of the Keys recruitment as well.

And we are ready for your whining and complaining about how bad of a failure this staff is if he goes to OSU
It would be a failure, but I'd put the blame on De'Rail Sims. He's the RB coach. His job is to coach and recruit RBs. DGG is our top priority. If we miss, it's on him. Should he be fired? No idea. Depends on who he does bring in and how they do. But to have an in-state talent like DGG and miss is a failure, no matter how you look at it.
