'27 TN RB David Georges

Yep I bet this was your doctor then

Even he would agree a 6'0/205+ RB with better vision, power, athleticism, long speed, cutting ability than the backs playing would be the better back. Running back is a simple position. It's very athletic based and then have to be able to pass protect, especially if you are not subbing. Love Bishop, but people gotta quit acting like he's the next Jalen Hurd bc he's a fun Knoxville kid lol. David is a very similar prospect to Jonathan Taylor, who came in and had damn near 2K as a freshman. Obviously Wisconsin ran it way more, but let's not overthink this bc of production at the college level. This offense is always going to allow for big one-cut backs to have a ton of success. David is a better one-cut back than anyone on the team right now

Bishop would be an ideal #2 back. He's not very explosive and is not going to take a game over.

And for folks comparing him to Hurd go watch the cut David made on 5th TD. 9:11 in the 3rd.
Hurd was never as good or as physical as George. Good grief anyone comparing Hurd to him is nuts. Hurd was not mentally tough, I could go on but I won’t. We’ve had many many tougher backs than Jalen Hurd.GBO

Not at all the same tier as DGG in terms of skill but Hurd used to truck fools in college. He was extremely physical.

He wasn’t mentally tough, yes he was big and strong but not mentally. That what I was truly referring too. I can think of several Tennessee backs that were better. Hurd never reached his potential at Tennessee or in the pro’s. GBO

It doesn't show up in the stats, but Hurd turned quite a few two-yard losses into two- or three-yard gains, simply by virtue of his ability to break tackles.

Keep on believing that if it makes you feel better 😂😂😂😂😂

I remember for some portion of the season, and not just 2 games or so, literally all of his rushing yards were yards after contact. our OL was ATROCIOUS.

Jesus, man. Give it a rest. Ball security can be coached. If that's the thing you're picking apart about his game as a high school junior, that's telling about how good he is.

I like you as a poster, even if a lot of others don't. But you've gotta stop fixating on a single point just to beat a dead horse.
Saw this late.
Never said he wasn’t great.

But you all are getting carried away with the hype.
And YES he does have a damn problem with how he carries the football. And yes it can be coached but until that actually happen I’m not touting him as the next Bo Jackson!

And and as soon as he fumbles you all will begin to doubt him which is an equally silly reaction considering I’ve been saying the whole time he has problem.

No hs kid has ball security coaching, training and drills like they do in college. They all need work, which is why ball security has set aside times in practice, whereas HS spend little if any time on it. I don’t believe this kid has had fumble issues while getting a lot of carries and a lot of yards thru contact. No idea why it’s such a focus. In all my years I’ve never seen or heard somebody harp on hypothetical future college fumble issues regarding a hs jr rb recruit.

I watched Hurd a lot in Hs. He often ran around, ran past, or ran over. Hurd was a darn good back.

Not talking about high school. Give me a Bishop over Hurd all day long. At least I know I am going to get max effort. Yes heard was big and had physical strength. But I can think of many running backs that UT has produced that I would rather have. Just like folks fawn over Bray, I can think of many that were better leaders. Give me the players that are mentally tough and are willing to go to battle every Saturday. I don’t care to watch spoiled kiddie meltdowns on the football field. GBO

Bishop is a very nice story. Hurd went all out his Freshman and Sophomore year. Often being the best player on the field for us. If it weren't for his handlers and him listening to them. He'd be Tennessee's all-time leading rusher. It really sucks how that situation ended.

I diplomatically and deliberately omitted your last point. At the time, so many Tennessee fans understandably wanted Kamara to be the feature back. However, we desperately needed the Larry Csonka-like bruiser that Hurd brought to the table for the very reason that you cited even more than the Gale Sayers-like qualities that Kamara possessed.

I agree the Hurd wasn’t used right by Jones, but for the offense Butch was running Kamara was a better fit. But Butch botched everything, making to many promises to players. But still anyone trying to say Hurd was anywhere near the best back Tennessee has ever had never watched enough Tennessee tailbacks. Hurd never really reached his potential in the pros either. GBO

Exactly. It’s a weird thing to fixate on at this point.

How many fumbles does he have this season?

He’s fumbled against McCallie in their first game during a critical junction of that game. Luckily it was recovered by Baylor. 2nd game he left no doubt.

He fumbled 2 weeks ago too.

It’s correctable but you all act like he can do no wrong. He’s just a damn kid. STOP WORSHIPING him….

The reason it KEEPS BEING SAID IS BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU criticizing a very real situation.

So what he’s in HS. Not every RB has his issue. Most don’t have his skills either! That doesn’t mean it’s not a problem!!

You are barking up the wrong tree.
-I don’t worship him. I have 3 sons older than him. Take your CAPS and shove them, if there’s room next to your head, which is up ur ass.
-People like me criticizing a very real situation? When he’s not the a top back demanding top NIL money, it will be a real situation. What you consider real is nothing more than an uneducated hypothetical guess from a hill all alone. Not a damn coach recruiting him is worried about him fumbling. Every rb that comes into a program is taught how to carry the ball like it’s their first day the way the rb coach wants them to and it’s drilled in. They see a pro body, strong and fast with elite feet and cutting ability.
