'27 TN RB David Georges

If we get Georges, will anyone at all care that we missed on Hiter?

We beat OSU to be one of Hiter's final 2. If we get Georges that will be twice we have gone head-to-head with OSU on a guy and beaten them.

But of course all I hear is how much OSU is spending on their roster. Yes, but how much of it goes to that safety? Who is really good, don't get me wrong, but he plays safety. How much of your NIL budget goes to just him?

I'm just trying to add some perspective to the way NIL works now and how you really do have to balance the importance of certain positions to your ultimate success. Would anyone at all trade David Sanders for Hiter? That's why I try not to complain too much. Things are going better than I expected so why would I?

I mean yeah but they won the NC last year and are undefeated and #1 currently. I’d say they’re allocating their resources pretty well.

Yeah, that's a good argument, but we're talking the past 2 cycles we've beat them out on big time recruits. And it's not like those are the only two they wanted. Things changed suddenly when NIL became a thing and the schools that figured the game out early were able to win as a result of that, but many more teams are catching on now including some teams that I don't imagine many saw coming. I man Vandy in the top 10 and LSU firing their coach mid-season? Ole Miss' AD saying publicly he wants to beat the deal the Indiana coach got, which was astronomical.

It's going to take a few more cycles to see how things settle, I think. Just a prediction. Texas Tech started spending like they had bottomless resources this past cycle. What will 4 of those look like? Forget recruiting. They can be selective and just spend in the portal on guys they don't have to guess on.
