Also rolling into town this weekend is David Gabriel Georges as the Chattanooga Baylor product comes up with his family. His family is in town from Canada so they are excited to come up for a Rocky Top weekend. Tennessee remains in a really good spot here with Ohio State also heavily involved. He is the top priority for Tennessee overall in the 2027 class.
He had 4 the one year he was the primary starter. Didn't matter tho bc the talent made up for it. Obviously he wouldn't be playing that much his last year if he was fumbling on his 4-5 carries against SEC teams. He led the conference in fumbles (tied) and fumbles lost for a non QB it looks like according to Fox SportsSampson had 5 total fumbles on 422 attempts. Yeah that definitely qualifies as having “fumble” issues![]()
I played with Karl in the TN/Kentucky all start game.I'm not doubting Georges ability. I've been watching and wanting this recruit since seeing the film last year.
However, it is naive to think you can compare Georges to all the great backs that have come through the state and rank him the best. Your assessment is based on your experience. He is in the upper echelon in recent memory though.
I used a little known back as an example who was a grown man before there was hudl and the internet. I played against Karl Williamson who landed at Mississippi State. Big, fast, strong. He was just a knucklehead. There are better backs I have not mentioned.
