My read, based on the combined reads of more plugged in folks:
Tennessee has positioned themselves to essentially be unable to be outbid due to Adidas NIL flexibility. (Similar to Keys recruitment) This last OSU move was last gasp to convince him to play for a bit less. Consensus from our media seems to be David is generational and staff views as worth the hefty investment.
Also, the UT influence at Baylor is just dialed up to an 11 right now, esp with Peyton’s kid around. He’d be swimming against a strong current to commit to OSU.
I could be totally wrong, and it could‘ve been the winners just putting a bow on this recruitment. Who really knows if money and external UT influence are big factors for the kid. But if you have it wrapped up, why pay to fly everyone down? Encouraged by VQ update, plus what I’m hearing from all channels.
Until VQ guys change their tune I feel good.
Ohio State fan here - I don’t know how other Ohio State fans feel, but I agree with another commenter that this feels a lot like the David Sanders recruitment.
The latest we’re hearing from our “insiders” is that the Buckeye coaching staff is heading to Canada to visit this kids extended family.
Our insider’s also opined that Ohio State probably wouldn’t be willing to, or able to outspend Tennessee for this DGG
Much like Nico that kid’s career was drastically altered by those around him. In retrospect we should’ve seen both coming. His dad selling a newsletter about where is kid was going to school. Nico’s dad might actually be the better human being compared to Bryce’s daddy.I remember when the experts said Bryce Brown was the can't miss recruit, aah goodtimes..
I love the confidence .... whether your info is solid or not. This kid been a vol lock for a year now tbh the OSU fear mongering is hilarious
no one tells us when and how to worry. this is our worry circle moranI love the confidence .... whether your info is solid or not.
Whenever Tennessee has gone balls to the wall for a player in the NIL era (Nico, Sanders, Keys and Brandon) our track record is pretty good. We should be confident here.
