'27 TN RB David Gabriel Georges

I remember when the experts said Bryce Brown was the can't miss recruit, aah goodtimes..
To be fair, Brown was an amazing talent. He made it to the NFL in spite of playing very little in college. I remember watching him rush for 100+ in an NFL game on single digit carries one time and he looked like an All Pro.

His problem was between the ears. He was a head case.

And bad advisors

We continue to feel like Tennessee has done as well as they could possibly do with David Gabriel Georges. Oddly, he will visit his two favorites right out of the gate and then take visits to Ole Miss and Georgia to round out his officials in June. We expect a decision to come in mid-to-late July with an announcement, likely coming from a ceremony at Baylor.

BOT (probably): “how does this even translate to the field, 40 times are irrelevant”
As a direct comparison, former Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright ran a 4.38 at the 2024 NFL Combine.

It would’ve been tied for the 20th-best 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine this past March. It would also have been the fourth-best time among running backs at the combine, trailing only Mike Washington’s 4.33, Jeremiyah Love’s 4.36, and Demond Clairborne’s 4.37. The time is 0.11 seconds faster than Jadarian Price, who went as the final pick in the first round last weekend.

Man Love is not a small dude to run a time like that, sheesh.

Impressive from DGG for sure.

his latest interview didn't sound that way.

sounded like the fact they are sending kids to the league is on his mind. Sounds like an all in move.
I get that but we also have an argument because we’ve sent 3 star RBs to the league. Of course OSU has had more 5 star RBs so by default they should be having more in the league. I’m sure that's part of the angle Heupel is working. That we’ve never had a back of his caliber and tying that along with who we have on the offensive side of the ball.

We’ve sent two RBs to the league in the Heupel era and they’ve sent two.

and one of theirs was Judkins who made his bones at Ole Miss.

Henderson/Judkins
Wright/Sampson

I think that supposed "advantage" for OSU is overblown.

I would rather throw the money on a proven portal player than get into a bidding war for this or any other kid. I'd love to have him. But if he's shopping for the top dollar, move on. I know that this is the NIL era, but indiana just proved that 5* players aren't needed to win, just serviceable depth at every position.

I think DGG is the type of impact player you spend big on. NIL isn't the be all-end all for him (we won't get outbid for him) as there are other things he values as well.

NIL will always be a factor in a kid’s recruitment no matter what but Heupel & Sims have made this kid a priority from Day 1.

Notice how AP has yet to change his tune on Tennessee and their stance.

We’re in a good position despite the recruiting experts thinking he’s an Ohio St lock.

Yep that’s why I referenced the VQ/War Room in one of my earlier post. Both Hubbs and AP have continued to say we’re in a good position.
