'26 TN QB Jared Curtis (Georgia commit)

I’d think Curtis is already receiving senior citizens discounts the way some of you guys wear out the age of a guy who’s within the TSSAA age range for his class. Good is good whether it’s 19vs 18 or 22 vs 23 IMO. We all remember that guy in school who seemed huge and had a mustache in 7th grade then you see him years later and he’s just an averaged sized man. Haggling over month’s difference seems silly as there’s a diverse development clock for folks.
I wasn’t wearing it out. I’ve stated multiple times that I think he (Jared) is good. Was also restating what’s been alleged from Heupel’s perspective regarding recruiting the two.

Oh come on, man. Kirby is a helluva coach. Helluva defensive mind. Those defenses they had were some of the best.

That said, we def have the more upstart coach. Has incredible values, runs a clean program, and holds himself well. Much prefer our offensive brand.
I think Kirby is a great coach but I don’t think he would’ve had the same success as Heupel if he walked into the same situation here as Heupel did.

Kirby inherited a ton of talent and elevated that. Heupel almost had to rebuild from scratch.

I'm a believer the NFL exposes overrated college players. Guys whose weaknesses were hidden in college cause teams are so unbalanced when it comes to talent. For example, when Justin Fields was at Ohio State they recruited significantly better than everyone else in the Big Ten to where the difference between his teammates and the opposing team players was so vast it made the game easy for him. In the NFL where the gap in talent is much closer his lack of ability got exposed.

I know some don't subscribe to this thinking but outside of guys who flame out in the NFL due to personal issues I view all NFL busts as overrated college players who weren't as good as their college career indicated.
I hear you, but using that logic, 99.999% of recruits are overrated. There are way more “busts” in the NFL from a percentage standpoint that college based off high school recruiting rankings. Initially services “attempted” to rank stars based on draft potential, not necessarily based exactly how they would do in the NFL. For example 5 stars = potential 1st round pick.

Dabo might have the claim to best HC in cfb but y’all ain’t ready to have that conversation.

Look at decade leading up to Dabo. Do the same for Kirby. And Ryan Day. Tell me who *really* built their current program.

When Heup wins a NC it’ll be difficult to not consider him the best HC in cfb considering the decade+ ineptitude he walked into.
Dabo gets weirdest HC. Behind Kiffin and Freeze. We are blessed to have our guy.

Jared Curtis will be the greatest QB we all have ever seen. Book it! A real "problem".

There was this ONE throw, he made in high school, against *checks notes* Davidson Academy, who was coming off a remarkable year of *checks notes again* 4-7 (1-5 in their district). Davidson Academy had this one defensive back, who was *checks notes again again* 5'9"/150, that made it a real battle. But, Curtis, with this ONE throw...

I knew, right then.

Way better than that Faizon Brandon, who scored the game-winning touchdown, on 4th down, in an overtime win against the #1 team and defending state champs in North Carolina, in front of over 10,000 people.

There are some who get upset when people take a realistic view of what they've seen from players.

Curtis was 14-of-16 for around 287 in week 1.

Hopefully Faizon has some polish when he arrives.

The competition is bad. It could be worse overall the our lowest public division because there are only a handful of teams. Plus it's easier to carve up high school defenses. That might be something to look at. However he is drop back throw first passer with decent athleticism.
That throw was against Davidson academy a d2-2a team.ncs is 1a. NCS and Davidson would crush most 6a public schools. Nashville and Chattanooga private schools recruit, there are college players all over the field.

Ncs plays ensworth this friday. Ensworth is d2-3a, and coached by Tim Hasselback. That will be a big challenge.

You can't be serious.

NCS is grossly outmatched here but we will see what Curtis does. People can be biased all they want but there is no denying he is top level talent at QB.
We aren’t saying he isn’t talented. We are just happy we have one of the two QBs that are better than him in this class. Hopefully we win rd2 against Tejas for 1vs2 QB prospects. They won rd1 of Nico vs Arch.

As an example, Ncs has 4 players in the Tennessee 247 top 100, oakland has 2. The private schools pay their coaches top dollar, so they attract better coaches.

Not saying NCS would beat oakland, but yes they could beat the AVERAGE 6a school.

Better players + better coaches= better teams.

I don’t know why this thread went off the rails in a big argument about who is better. 😂. The point was the show that ridiculous throw and it doesn’t matter what the competition was, It’s about the physics of it that was impressive—a missle on a rope put in a perfect spot

Most recruits are overrated. I would say recruiting services are worse than the NFL draft. Which makes sense cause they're dealing with younger prospects with more room for growth as well as less data.

And this was really where the thread could have ended, but we have too many nancies that can't bring themselves to admit that someone not committed to Tennessee did something impressive without making it a pissing contest about who got the better player.

If it's about the physics, then you're going to need to present your argument in the form of written equations.
