Johnny Darden was from Springfield, not Clarksville.I talked to somebody that has coached him growing up. I also have another friend on the Kirkwood coaching staff. I am going to ask him about him as well. My one friend that coached him when he was younger said he is a real good kid, says it took awhile for him to get his aggression out on the field but he has really worked hard and has really turned himself into a very good player that is only going to keep getting better. Hard worker and lots of talent, he has a great frame to work with. When we send one to the hill from my area it usually works out. There have not been many but they have usually lived up to or over performed expectations. Joe Balthrop,Blaine Tidwell,Harry Galbreath,Travis Stephens and Jalen Reeves Maybin and Johnny Darden in basketball and Christian Scott in baseball all represented the Clarksville area well. GBO
I knew Johnny Darden was from Springfield, I don’t know why I put him in there.Johnny Darden was from Springfield, not Clarksville.
John Ward called Johnny Darden the Dirt Dauber. Which I thought was a great nickname for him.I knew Johnny Darden was from Springfield, I don’t know why I put him in there.Probably because when I was little I got to watch him play against Northwest for 2 years in a row. Northwest and Clarksville High were the only AAA schools in Montgomery County and Springfield was in their District. I remember being amazed at how quick Johnny D was and he gave a very talented Northwest squad fits back then. I was around 8 years old then.
Blair wrapped up his OV and gave an interview. He said positive things but mostly pretty generic. One interesting tidbit though is that he said of the 4 O-lineman doing their official visits this weekend, 2 were commits. The other linemen here this weekend are Osenda, Kolojay, and Anderson. Not sure if Blair misspoke or if we have another commitment that hasn’t gone public yet.
Any idea when Blair is expected to announce his commitment?I wonder if Anderson jumped back in the boat. His rating kind of fell off and he isn’t being pursued like he once was - when he committed here everyone thought uga and Alabama was pushing for him. But apparently his only options now are UNC, Mizzou and us.
If osenda ends up at rt, do we slide sanders to lt?Here’s his other links for anyone interested:

Blair On3
This seems like another case of early identification and evaluation by the staff which other schools followed suit on, and Blair has racked up a very nice offer list.
Osenda may end up projecting better at RT. We’ll see. But Blair bulked up to about 315 with his traits looks to have everything you look for in a LT. Shout out to Eric for correctly predicting the Anderson situation and teasing the possibility of a Blair commitment.
