Alcoa will have a tougher path getting to the big game in 4A with Elizabethton, Greenville, Anderson County and others in the path on this side of the bracket. They do look the part this year just running on to the field.

They already took out Maryville and destroyed Bearden who was supposed to be good 63-17 or something like that.

I think they beat all of those teams you mentioned by 14 points. Minimum

They are the closest team to my house, though we are zoned to Heritage, so I will go catch a couple of their better games. Oddly a Bearden grad, but the one 4 miles down the Pike. But that was 56 years ago,so……

Yes each class has a playoff and there are 9 state champions which is way too many for this state. 6 public and 3 private.

Oakland and Alcoa can only meet if they schedule each other in the regular season.

So it turns out Brody Smith was 6A All- State as a junior last season 😅.

That’s something. It doesn’t mean he’s good enough to play at Tennessee, so I decided to watch his most recent tape.

Maryville played against West. A team that was supposedly to be really good, but Maryville Destoryed them. Evidently they got a transfer from Bearden who was All-State as a junior as well. Tory Beaufort.

Anyway I watched Smith and he was decent enough in pass blocking but where he really shined was RUN BLOCKING 🤣. He was dog walking the dline for West.

Anyway. Just wanted to share.


I don’t agree that hes soft. You’re not soft and starting for Maryville and earning All - State as a junior.
