It’s interesting how we complain about instate talent leaving … this kid is Top 4 in TN (247) and has good size. It’s interesting we aren’t pursuing, he was all up about the Vols a year ago. Must be something the staff wants, sees that he doesn’t have … ?
My understanding from people who should know is that he is way down the board,ie.the Vols are not recruiting him that hard .Obviously he is not 4th on their board for in-state recruits.In-state recruits that they are after are :
DE /LB Herring;OL Bussell (committed already );OL/SDE Trevor Duncan;OL Brycen Sanders;LB/DL Nathan Robinson;RB DeSean Bishop;WR Justin Brown;APB Marquez Taylor; and ,may continue to recruit WR Porter and may not since he committed to KY.I will throw one caveat in this caldron, and that applies to the current situation.....recruiting changes constantly like the wind.

*Staff doesn't go after a highly rated in-state recruit that doesn't fit*

Fanbase: "This staff can't recruit in-state. What are they doing? So dumb"

Yeah some have a hard time remembering the Butch era. If a 4/5 star doesn’t fit your scheme then he isn’t any better than a 3 star on gameday. A 3 star that fits your scheme can overachieve and provide you with what a 4/5 star player can. Some kids fit any system and some kids need the right system.

Good examples of this Tillman was the 2/3star player his ranking suggested with piss poor coaching under Pruitt then comes a scheme that fits him perfectly and makes him the impact of a 5 star player. While a 5 star player like Bailey never made it past 3rd string as he isn’t the QB heupel is looking for
