Ummm - LOTS of teams? :thud: sure, exactly 3 or 4 teams each year. And that just means they are in top 5 not #1 every single friggen year. And very very few are in that same top 5 year to year - thats why Alabubba is sadly the powerhouse it is.

Not trashing the kid at all. I'm sure he's a great person. I'm simply saying Butch's recruiting ISN'T getting better. They aren't making up the ground that they need to and I'm pretty sure we have seen the peak of the Butch Jones coaching era. We aren't recruiting like a team that is the class of the conference. I'm frankly worried and have nothing against this kid.

Offer list is not bad, but another kid that will have to out play his star ranking to have a significant impact.

I never pay attention to star rankings, just who is offering. Chances are if he has a good offer sheet there is a reason why.. 2 star, 3 star, 4 star, 5 star it doesn't matter.

Remember after the bowl game how everyone was excited at the idea of a top 5 class for 2017? Those in denial are trying to build up every 3 star and make any excuse for Butch. 2017 will be known as the year for "settling for the next guy"

Saw the same trend with Dooley. His first class was probably his best, it was downhill after that.

The posted offer sheets are more complex than that. Normally that info comes from a player tweeting out things like "got an offer from Bama today". What the player doesn't post is about the meeting he had with Saban where he told the kid the offer is based on if players that Bama has ranked higher commit somewhere else. Coaches will also put special conditions on offers like "you have to be this weight, drop your 40 time, gain x amount of strength by your final visit. Also you have to get your teammate who is a better player to commit too". There is a reason he has offers from TN Tech and TSU along with UF and UT. Do you think TN Tech is going to waste their time recruiting a kid that just has to say "yes" to get into Knoxville or Gainesville?

Agree, the offer list is far more important than most star ratings......offers from certain schools tell allot
