'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

0-8 is what happened. The kid wants to win now and that is his choice. The family believes he is a 3 yr player and wants to compete for a championship. Unfortunately that likely wouldn't happen at Tennessee. I am curious to see where he is in 3 years. I think he is a good player but not a 3 and out type. Hope he plays well wherever he goes, I just hope his team loses!

Trey Smith is more talented and he came here. And he's still gonna be a high NFL draft pick. If you're good enough, it doesn't matter where you go to school. You'll be an NFL player regardless.

Cade Mays running off to Georgia and Clemson just shows he's a front-runner and running away from the challenge of rebuilding Tennessee for the easy road at Georgia or Clemson.

This team can easily compete and win against anyone in the East other than UGA. We were one win from the Sugar Bowl about 12 months ago. The ship is not that hard to turnaround.

The going got tough and he walked. Says all I need to know.

Yes, you will be an NFL player. There is a lot better guarantee that Georgia and Clemson compete for championships over the next 3 years than Tennessee. Unfortunately, that is a fact and I don't fault the kid for that.

Didn't say it couldn't happen, but nobody in their right mind is picking Tennessee to have a better record than Clemson and Georgia next year with even odds. Tennessee is no where close to competing on the national level. We lost some good players off the team 2 years ago.

Low blow.

Unless he were to shock the world and pick UT. Then it would be a well-calculated move.

It would be fitting that someone with your screen name would recognize the slight chance at a shocking turn of events...great movie and great reference :)

That's called being a front runner. He's not some kid from New York. He's from Tennessee and UT is his father's alma mater. And he's been committed here for over a year.

This mindset would be fine if we're talking about someone with no ties to UT. But there's a difference when you're from an area and you have close ties. To me it makes Cade Mays look weak to turn his back on Tennessee now.

If this kid puts a Tennessee hat on the table when they weren't even in the top 3.. the Mays name might become a cuss word in Knoxville.

That is a stretch, UGA plays AU every year, UT plays Bama every year. This particular year AU beat Bama.

We play Florida, Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama over a 5-week period. Below is their schedule. Point out their gauntlet ...

Austin Peay
@ S. Carolina
MTSU
@ Missouri
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
@ LSU
Bye
Florida (Jax)
@ Kentucky
Auburn
UMass
Ga Tech

And Josh Dobbs was a Georgia kid who broke his commitment to ASU. Is he weak?
