'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

Have a German Shepherd/Norwegian Elkhound mix that farts like a human, then looks at you like you did it...

I used to breed Norwegian Elkhounds. Fine animals. Gentle as kittens around children, which made them great family pets, but ferociously protective of their human family. Although called Elkhounds, they were bred to protect isolated homes from bears.

She's a MESS.. Stubby little Elkhound body with a small Shepard head and face.. About 65lb and a solid ball of muscle. She's beautiful and smart as can be.. I have her and a 70lb full blood male boxer, her 'bruhder' haaa.. She's LOST without him.

They make a formidable team..

Best of luck to the kid. I understand, Clemson is special right now. They have some of the best facilities and have been on a roll going to the playoffs for the last three years. I take the opposite view on this if his mind is made up on Clemson better to shut us down where we don't waste time on him. JMO and I'd love to have him but the kid is probably hearing so much from other coaches and Butch Jones kid as well.

Not convinced Clemson is the best fit for Cade. Remember; Hyatt was a 5* recruit.

WalterFootball.com: 2018 NFL Draft: Offensive Tackle Rankings

Mitch Hyatt, OT, Clemson
Height: 6-5. Weight: 295.
Projected 40 Time: 5.12.
Projected Round (2018): 3-5.
12/9/17: Hyatt has been disappointing in 2017, getting pushed around regularly. Even undersized defensive ends have had success winning with power against Hyatt. He clearly needs to get stronger for the NFL. Hyatt also has had problems with speed rushers, including the edge rushers from Miami in the ACC Championship.

Some team sources say they have graded Hyatt as a fourth-rounder for the 2018 NFL Draft. If he continues to struggle, they will drop the grade to Round 5. That being said, they noted the huge demand for tackles could cause a team to reach on Hyatt higher than where he belongs. Returning for his senior year to get stronger could end up helping his draft grade.

9/1/17: Hyatt played well in 2016 and did his job to keep Deshaun Watson healthy. Hyatt had an impressive freshman season as the blind-side protector for Watson in 2015 as well. Not only did he help protect Watson, Hyatt did a nice job of opening holes for Wayne Gallman.

Hyatt could use more strength for the NFL, but he is still a young player with time to develop. Hyatt also could be a candidate to move inside as a pro.

Just for the record I'm stating this here. And hopefully it will lessen the hurt if he goes to Clemson.

Got to watch Mays one game this year. Based on that one game I saw, I truly don't we will be all that upset 3-4 years from now if he goes. Not trying to bash him, but I just don't think he lives up to the hype. And then I could be completely wrong but I've seen a few things that make me question his attitude, too.

And just to be clear, if he does decide to come to TN I'll be happy about it. Because part of me says to trust the recruiting services and coaches that know a lot more than I do. But the other part remembers what I saw live, and I'm just not sold its a future star SEC player.

Still not in home.

It isn’t going to happen.

Got other big time OL prospects to go and get.

Lol okay. Lol

Man the only thing that Fulmer has to convince Cade of is that Tennessee is going to start winning again. With Jeremey Pruitt and the staff he has putt in place, not to mention Fulmer being back at the helm, I think it extremely likely that Fulmer can do that.

A winning organization is the only thing that Clemson has over Tennessee. Cade's Father went to Tennessee. Cade grew up in Tennessee. Cade has been a Tennessee fan his whole life. Cade has grown up going to games dreaming of running through the T at Tennessee. Cade has alot of strong relationships that he has built at Tennessee. One of Cades best friends is committed to Tennessee. I mean I could go on, but the point is its not like Fulmer has to speak in tongues in order to flip Cade back to Tennessee. I think it very likely Cade recommits to Tennessee.

Yeah the fact that it isn’t in-home took away any hope I saw when I saw the Hubbs quote. They will need to nail this pitch just to get a shot at an in-home visit. Just don’t see it happening. Oh well.

Except he wants to get out of state for college and Dabo is a master recruiter.

Regardless it shows Pruitt isn't just going to sit back and take no for an answer without a fight. I'll give us at least a 1% rocky balboa bloody mess chance with Pruitt and Fulmer face to face with him.
