'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

Poster on VQ

"It’s not that we doesn’t to play for Pruitt. When this season went into the dumpster, and knew Butch was gone, he started looking around and more teams starting calling him. He was convicted to visit Clemson, and loved it. He bonded well with the team and the family atmosphere. He also got to know Dabo who can sell ice to Eskimo’s. Dabo can only take 14 to 15 signees this year. They have like 20 to 25 five / four stars that want in. Dabo promised one of only 2 spots he has left to Cade. Cade silently committed to Dabo a month ago. Also, Cade became great friends with the class they have committed, especially with Trevor Lawrence. Trevor is hyped to be the next Peyton Manning. Once in a life time college QB. On top of that you have Tee Higgins and Amari Rogers with the East TN connections telling him Clemson is just amazing. Add in that they won the Natty last, and they are the #1 seed this year. Also, one of the offensive Tackles might turn Pro this year, and Cade was told he has a change to start for the Top rated College team in the country. Cade gave Dabo is word, and it does not matter who TN hired, he is going to Clemson. Thanks a lot Butch."

It will be a lot of fun watching Bama beat Clemson in a few weeks. Don’t care for Dabo in the least. Hope Bama blows them out.

Go VOLS!

Not buying the decommit because Tennessee has no chance of winning a championship. If that's the case, why didn't he decommit 2 years ago? Anyone with half a brain knew Butch wasn't going to pull it off then. I guarantee Kevin knew...

If the family give Phil and Pruitt an in home great, if not, then be done with him and say good luck young man.

So Cade committed to Clemson last month but he’s taking an official to GA this weekend? Clemson is the school that has a no visit policy after committing. I call bull****.

It's one guy, that won't make or break us.

I'm not really worried about him making or breaking us. I'm just sick of this whole narrative of what a great, upstanding guy Dabo is and how precious his offers are. And this bullsh*t of once you're committed to Clemson you aren't allowed to take visits to other schools, but it's fine for that piece of sh*t to recruit players committed to other schools and have them come on official visits. And I'm pissed off that it seems that he wouldn't be able to land half of his class without specifically taking advantage of UT being down and feeding off of us. Deep down, I think he's always been a sleazy dirtbag that struck it big paying for players and somehow managed to get away with it until now they're successful enough that the NCAA will probably just keep looking the other way. I just hope that one day they slip up and get slammed hard and Dabo gets a big show cause (right after he's hired to replace Saban :) )

Multiple posters on VQ saying Cade has burned a lot of bridges with current players and commits. Big ego. One guy said he was the one who filmed the fight with Warrior and Shy and leaked it. TIFWIW

No matter what the truth is in this situation unless we hear that Fulmer and Pruitt got an in home really soon we might as well just close this thread.

It's gotten to the point with me I don't want him. He's a head case. If the current players don't want him, I don't want him.

The thing I don’t understand is he actively recruited players for UT for 2+ years and literally formed a deep bond with Clemson after 2 months? Something about Dabo’s bunch doesn’t add up.

Doubtful. Why would they hold a spot for someone who is still testing the waters when they have others willing to shut it down, per their policy (allegedly)?

To save face? You can say it about players who are already committed. But if you do it to silent commits that can back fire real quick

I'm sure they will but Clemson is the most complete team of the 4. Far fewer weaknesses than the other 3. Clemson could beat Ala, GA and Okl on a neutral field more times than not.

Lol. I love when people bring hot takes in which there is no way to prove them. Let me guess if Clemson loses to Bama then they could have beat them 'x' out of 10 times in a hypothetical series.

Cade Mays not going to UT seems to be more about Clemson than Pruitt, Mays, Fulmer, etc. Clemson is crushing it in recruiting and getting whoever they want, kind of like Tennessee did back around the late 90s. I can't blame Mays or any Tennessean for looking elsewhere and wanting to get away for a few years. Mays will always be from Tennessee - and I hope he does well wherever he goes and I will root for him like I do every other Tennessean. Wish it was Tennessee for Cade Mays, but our future is not going to be made or broken by one recruit.

Hey Cade. Clemson fans booed the hell out of their team and wanted Dabo fired a few years back. Luckily their fans are idiots and their AD is smart. Georgia fans booed Richt and cost a hall of fame coach his job. Worked out ok for them so far. Luckily UT fans were smarter than their AD, got his azz fired and finally have two men left in charge that can change our course of history.

You want in? Great! If not, just be another front runner. Spurning your childhood team that finally made the right choices seems foolish but what the hell do I know?
Jawjia fans ran off a coach during a 9-10 win season

Yeah, when you’re going well you can have a “no visit” rule. But clearly Hunter Johnson was used as bait to get Tee Higgins away from us. Dabo and his “family” and “love” schtich works on some folks, while his nut grabbers show they are ruthless and dirty behind the scenes. I guess that’s how you beat Bama.
