'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

His dad Kevin is from my neck of the woods and I know some people who know him.

On one hand I think it's good of him to let his son make his own decision and not pressure Cade to go to UT just because he did. However, I'm also a little surprised given that Kevin owns a chain of businesses in the area. I don't think this would happen but Tennessee fans could choose to spend their money elsewhere.

What do you mean? I don't mean to sound negative towards either one of them. Everything I've heard about Kevin or Cade has been positive and I didn't meant to hint otherwise if it came off that way.

I'm just saying I wonder if that's a consideration they're discussing as a family. It shouldn't be. Cade should be able to go to school wherever he wants.

Just find it odd that bring a man's livelihood into his son's recruitment. Perhaps that isn't how you meant it and if that is the case I apologize. I just don't like even hinting that people should go that route.

No, I don't mean to do that. That's why I didn't get more specific into what the businesses are. That's no one's business but theirs.

I'm just wondering out loud if that's something that has to be considered. And not just for Cade, but for families of high profile recruits all over the country.

Mays dramatic turn against the Vols is definitely a surprise given that he was all Vol for so long. While there probably is some truth that it was driven by his perception of the future of the program, I still believe there was something else that triggered the decision. I wonder if it was something said by one or more of the current players or some negative social media contacts. I'm not sure that Pruitt can mend the damage, but I'm sure he along with Friend and Fulmer will work non-stop to get him back in the fold. If they fail, then I wish Mays the best of luck where ever he goes. In the long run, I still think he will regret his decision.

I Think Cooper Has Been Pushing Cade To Clemson For Awhile, Cooper Wants To Attend Clemson Too. Atleast Thats What I was Told.
If Cade Plays Football Anything Like His Daddy Did, Someone Is Getting A Great One. Meanest Player Ive Ever Watched Play Football Was Kevin Mays, And I mean That In A Good Way. He Was Relentless And Played Through The Whistle Every Snap. He Never Took Plays Off In Practice Either.
