'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

Told ppl he wouldn't play for Butch and his dad understood thus why he finally de-committed. Currie has to STOP playing nice guy and get him out of here. I told ppl the culture was cancerous and kids weren't being developed. Cade is an elite guy and will be an elite OG on the next level and his family knows this. OL is definitely a position no kid should want to play for UT right now. Butch's biggest mistake again to date is not retaining Pittman.

Should've fired the moron in the Vandy locker room last year. Now we are going to be starting at square one again.

Cade is gone and is headed to Clemson. We lose another recruit to Clemson. We will continue to lose recruits until we make a coaching change. It's hard to believe that a kid growing up a VOL would end up at another school. Unbelievable

After who we've had coaching the past 8-10 years, not hard at all.

I think UGA has the lead.

Losing homegrown local 5*, who you can tell from his statement is very pained in making this decision is going to hurt us. Though you don't make admin decisions based around one player, I'm worried that early signing day is going to sweep him up and he's going to be permanently gone before we get serious about finally making some sort of coaching decision.

Kid was born, raised, and played high school football in Knoxville. Dad played for Tennessee on the offensive line. He's probably going to go to Clemson or Georgia because we suck. Just sad.

I grew up a Vol and I would go to Clemson right now if I were an 18yo kid. Tennessee has nothing to offer in the way of development and getting kids to the NFL. We are so far away from winning championships right now.

Cade Mays: ‘I want to win a national championship’

If that's his criteria, it doesn't really matter who UT hires. I can't imagine Saban himself being able to transform this roster into a national championship squad in 4 years...assuming Mayes stays all 4. It is what it is. When this program went off the tracks and we started wanting this coach and staff fired, this was inevitable. I'd be stunned if it's anyone other than Clemson.

We need to hire a good coach. I want a good class but we have to get the hire right first then worry about the class. If it is Gruden, then it will be fine but we have to make Gruden and not Cade or ourselves happy on when it happens. Gruden > Cade. If it is someone who is coaching now, then we can't hire him now. It is not as much as getting rid of Butch as it is getting a coach hired. Mays probably decommits even if Butch had already been fired. No way to know where this program is headed until we know who will be leading it.

A Knoxville legacy player committed for 2 years bolting. At what point does Currie stop the bleeding? Makes me sick.

I remember his dad playing with a close up on national TV running to the sideline and puking through his facemask. That's how I feel right now.

Hard to blame the kid.

I don't even put this on Butch.

Currrie not doing his job. If your not keeping the coach your only hurting your program by leaving him there. Just watching a dumpster fire burn at this point.

Nothing Currie has done gives anyone faith that the right decisions and calls are being made.

These are you consequences when you don't have accountability from the top down.

Probably the one kid they need the most in that entire class.

I could see him coming back in with the right head coach hire.
