'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

Sorry guys not a troll. I live in Anderson, SC and the radio station here was talking about it. I am from Knoxville moved to SC 6 years ago. This would be a HUGE LOSS for our class. I still think he will stay in Knoxville to represent his Dad and family but I am concerned! Would love to see Big Trey and Cade play together so would JG!

So a Clemson radio show said a big time recruit was a Clemson lean?

They also was talking about Dixon but said they don't know if he would be a take currently. They are going to wait and see. Hopefully our new coach can restore the relationship with him and get him back on board.

I still have a hard time seeing Cade go anywhere else but... it is bad that he is taking other visits. We need to make a move fast and clear up the uncertainty.

Brendon Harris. We also lost another two recruits, I believe, but they were 3 stars. Meanwhile, Georgia just landed another top 3 RB in this class. They are going to rule the East for years to come if we don't do something fast.

sounds like Harris was falling off hard and wound up at Vandy.

UT didn't try to keep Harris. We'll fight hard for Mays. He's an EE, though. Need to get the coaching sorted out quickly with early signing.

I hope that's the case. It looks terrible to outsiders who don't know the full story, of course, but I still hate to lose an in state kid to them regardless.

Would rather lose an in state kid to Vandy than one of the other powerhouses around...makes them seem like they werent that great to begin with.

It's my understanding that EEs don't have to sign. They can still just enroll as before, I think.

Still, enrolling starts their clock and locks them in. If he changed his mind in January, he'd be treated like any other transfer.

Yea, I know that, but my point was that an ee doesn't have to sign early giving hem another few weeks to get to know the new staff.

I guess I misunderstood, possibly still do. If you EE, you are locked in as soon as you attend a class. He could WE at Clemson and still reverse course up to the time he attends his first class. That is the loophole Kiffin tried to exploit when he left Tennessee.

Those EEs do not sign anything. They just enroll and attend class. We may be saying the same thing.

Lol. Probably my inability to convey a thought.

Some have mentioned we had to get a coach in place quickly because of the early signing period that begins 12/20, I think. My point as it relates to Mayes is he doesn't have to sign in the early signing period, he can just enroll in mid January. That gives him more time 3-weeks more time or so to get to know his new coaches. If he had to sign early and we didn't name a coach until late Nov/early Dec, there wouldn't be a whole lot of time to establish a relationship with the new coach and even less with a position coach.
