TN needed this loss

This is the first time TN was tripled team in the final minutes. We were definitely rattled so we took outside shots instead of driving. We won’t let this happen again . Go Vols!
Some folks just can’t see a mediocre team when they watch one. We have played like this every other game since the SEC started. Our offense is 50-50 at best. No consistency.

Scoring 50 points on a lower tier Ole Miss team and losing is not good for us. We are starting to run out of excuses for these continued losses.

At this point it seems we could beat anybody, but also lose to anybody. At this point you have to think we are more than likely a rd of 32 team who will have a tough match-up to get in the sweet 16. Right now, we aren't consistent enough to even reasonably hope for a shot at making the Elite 8

The year we made the Elite 8 we had some terrible regular season losses and got the sh** kicked out of us by Kentucky in the SECT. A big reason we got to the Elite 8 is we got some favorable matchups and an upset. You can't really say much about our chances until you see the path we might get.

We have no clue how to drive the ball to the basket. We will only go as far as our outside shooting will carry us. Also, in my opinion that is not far in the playoffs.

Over/under on how many times the Dolts bring up CRB’s compensation tonight?

Amazingly, one poster in particular must be pushing 15x by himself. That sounds like an exaggeration. It’s not. He’s even shown off his fancy cyphering skills by letting us know multiple times how much the Deacon earns per game

Yeah, you don't know until you see the brackets, but losing to Ole Miss is not a good look for us when it comes to seeding. More losses like that can really affect where we get placed and therefore affect our path in the tourney.

I'd rather be on the side of the bracket of a #2 or #3 that may meet each other in the sweet16 than potentially be a #4 or #5 that has to play each other in the rd of 32, then beat a #1 in the sweet 16.

OP’s point is that we got exposed on half court traps for the first time this year. It’s an opportunity to correct it.

Valid point; however, how on earth could they respond so poorly to something they have seen their entire basketball lives? Three on the ball means two open players at minimum. But the open guys are supposed to do something besides stand waving their hands in closed passing lanes and that is exactly what happened over and over. The traps should have doomed Old Miss, not UT. Hard to understand.

It looks a lot different with the ball in your hands vs the vantage point we have watching TV.

But yes, we should have solved it after a couple times down the court.

I wasn't nearly as concerned with the trapped player's panic as I was with the lack of appropriate responses from the other players who should have been moving to break the trap.

The baseline was left wide open. It’s sad that it couldn’t be exploited.

The lack of a PG that can beat someone off the dribble is our weakness. I think they should move Keon or Springer to the point, or at least run the point in our 1/2 offense. Vescovi can't drive the ball and his passing is not great until he drives the ball.

Exposed badly and better than the 1st round of the tourney. Kermit the Frog is a very good basketball coach.

60% of Ole Miss’ points were scored in the paint. 20% of Tennessee’s points were scored in the paint. That generally leads to poor results on most nights. They also had 15 fast break points (essentially free points) compared to ZERO for us.
