Wed night tix are $2. Thur night tix are $10. I just hope Vol fans didn't buy a ticket book

Would be good investment. The trailer market is good in Kentucky and I hear entire parks are heading down with their mortgages to buy up tickets later in the tourney for way over ticket face value

The SEC tourney is fun. I've been a few times. Nashville puts on a good show. Ky fans will outnumber every other fan 20:1 but it's a good experience. It's more fun when your team is competitive obviously. It's wide open this year, but it'll still be like a home game for Ky.

Auburn lost to TX A&M and Miss State lost to Mississippi. A TN win against Mississippi on Saturday locks them up as the 11 seed with the opening night bye due to Missouri sitting out the tournament. I'm not at all clear on what happens if TN and Miss State were to both lose on Saturday. That would create a three way tie at 6-12 between TN, Miss State, and Auburn. TN has the tie breaker versus Miss State. TN and Auburn split. Auburn would have the tie breaker versus Miss State since their upcoming game is their only meeting this season. 11 plays 6 on Thursday and 12/13 plays 5. Then 6/11 plays 3 on Friday and 5/12/13 plays 4.

Top 5 will be TX A&M, KY, Vandy, USCe, and LSU. TN's best chance to advance to the semis on Saturday will be to draw LSU on Thursday and probably USCe (assuming there are no upsets of 3-5 on Thursday) on Friday. TN has little chance of beating Tx A&M, Kentucky, or Vandy. At least the games are at Bridgestone instead of Memorisl if TN draws Vandy.

I actually don't like TN's odds against either Miss State or Auburn on Wednesday night.

It appears that Auburn has the tie breaker with TN based on criteria #2. They are 1-0 versus KY while TN is 1-1 versus KY. TN needs USCe or LSU to overtake KY in the seeding (unlikely as KY is one game ahead with one left).

Tournament Tiebreakers

So it looks as if TN will be the 11 seed if they beat Mississippi on Saturday or will play the loser of Miss State/Auburn in the 12/13 Wednesday game if they lose to Mississippi on Saturday.

Tie breakers:

TN > Miss State
Auburn > Miss State
Auburn > TN

Isn't Texas A&M the number 1 seed? I could be wrong but I thought they held the tie breaker over KY. So by the Criteria 2 it would be TN and AU's record vs A&M, which I think both are 0-1.

TN v Aub (1-1)
TN v MSt (1-0)
Aub v MSt (0-0)

Aub is 1-0 v KY
TN is 1-1 v KY
Auburn wins a tie breaker v TN but is currently one game behind.

TN wins the tie breaker v MSt

Auburn would win the tie breaker v MSt if they beat them and therefore tie them this weekend.

I haven't looked at the top other than the top 5 seeds will definitely be TXam, KY, Vandy, USCe, and LSU.

TN, MSt, and Auburn will be in some order of 11-13.

That's a pretty sh*tty way to break a tiebreaker since UT had to play Ky twice. Auburn would've been steamrolled had they played in Rupp.

That's what I thought. But it won't really matter if TN plays in the 12/13 or gets the Wednesday night bye with the 11. They'll struggle to win at all. I kind of like them playing in the 12/13 to possibly build a little momentum. A Thursday matchup with LSU is probably the best draw, but Simmons might be on a mission. If they don't have Hornsby they will be much easier to handle.

With everyone healthy and if Armani continues to plat the way he has, we have the potential to do some damage in this tournament. Every team in the SEC is beatable right now.

Also, what needs to happen for us to make the NIT? Or are we pretty much out of the hunt?

We'd have to get to the sect champ game, imo.

I doubt that that will be enough... MAYBE if they play Wednesday and go 4-1. But TN is 4 under .500 right now and there are too many P-5s with better records. Might could get in the CBI but it's only a 16 team field. The 4th tournament is only for smaller conferences.

Yeah best case for this yr is to play well in the tourney, and carry it on in to next yr.

Plus the longer we hang around the better the chance to see KP again. I'd like to see him get to show out one more time.

Odd, but TN's best chance to extend the season is to win the SECT. Without Punter, that's hardly worth dreaming about... even though TN beat three of the top five seeds, should gave beaten a fourth, and also beat Florida which is maybe the best of the next group of 5.

Dam nitpicker! Touché, poorly worded. I should have started with..

Since I do not see Tennessee being able to extend this season,....

I wasn't critiquing. I doubt that even if TN were to win out they'd have enough of a résumé for the NIT or the CBI. The most likely path to the post season is oddly the NCAAT.

With Punter officially out and maybe Hubbs, I don't see UT winning more than 2 games anyway and that's a big if. Guys will be dog tired by that 3rd game because of a short bench.

I had no expectations coming into the tournament. I really don't without Punter and Hubbs.
