'19 TN ILB Christopher Russell (Texas A&M signee)

Christopher had a great time at Arky, and I’m not going to lie to you about it. He said, that he understands that even though he went there, it is time to check out Tennessee. There is a former vol that has been talking to him about family atmosphere, and what to expect in Knoxville. A lot of Tennessee fans have been talking to him as well. I’ve really haven’t said anything much to him in the last two weeks about anything of his recruiting, I’ve been around, and I’ll just say this, he is really looking forward to the visit to Tennessee. He really wants to find out about that family atmosphere, everyone has talked about. I think he is really going to be surprised next Saturday, when he gets up there on that visit, and sees everything. As of today, I’m still 💯% confident. Coming from a small town with a bunch of Tennessee fans, more than you know around here, makes a huge difference.

My main concern was UA potentially locking him up and keeping him from visiting next weekend. If that didn't happen, we can blow him away.

OD when Russell commits to Arky lol

After he visits TN he’ll see that there’s a huge difference between there and the hogs and he’ll be all Vol

Except there isn't a huge difference. Both locations are gorgeous. Everyone has nice facilities. Fanbases are passionate. What it will probably come down to is his relationship with the coaching staff of each school. What can Tennessee show Russell that Arkansas can't?

Feel free to explain where I am wrong and if you've been to both Knoxville and Fayetteville, because I have.

Well for one Arky is by far the worst team in the SEC and they run a Big 12 offense and care very little about defense. Two, UT and Arkansas is like comparing Bama and Kentucky as far as tradition history etc. Third, UT has some of the brightest defensive coaches in the game and Arkansas has a DC who is a retread and bounces from gig to gig every 2-3 years.

Well, TN ranks 4th on this list and Arkansas is nowhere to be found: Ranking the Top 25 facilities in college football for 2018

They’re record attendance in that stadium is 76,000. Compared to Neylands 109,000. These do not compare.

Further, ones in Fayetville and the other is in Knoxville.

So yes, by every measure, you are wrong

Arkansas patterns itself after Clemson, the reigning national champions. The offense is the same and defensive approach is the same.

You think kids care about tradition? It is a what-have-you-done-lately generation. Tradition is for us old fans.

He called Chavis the G.O.A.T.

Checkmate.

Lol at thinking capacity of a stadium determines how nice it is. That's just silly.

Clearly you've never been to Fayetteville. Wouldn't shock me if you've never been to Knoxville either. Get out some and see the rest of the world, or at least other SEC programs. They all have nice facilities.

They can pattern themselves all they want - I can rebuttal to say they pattern after SMU and are playing more like SMU than Clemson. Brent Venables and Jeremy Pruitt are in a different zip code than Old man Chavis. He would have taken a LB gig at a bigger SEC school vs DC at Arky but he literally had no options.

Since your an Arky fan - are y’all good in anything right now serious question? Maybe underwater basket weaving?
