'19 TN ILB Christopher Russell (Texas A&M signee)

The way VQ mods are talking he 100% has a spot at UT no matter what and he's very likely a Vol.
Feels like everyone is trying too hard to convince people this kid “100% has a spot”, or he’s a take “no matter what”.

I’m not buying it.

He might end up in this class, but I think he’s an “option” if things don’t break our way with other targets.

What other targets?

Some were speculating that Harris would get a blue shirt because of grades if they all wanted in. That is just speculation though as far as I can tell.
21 + those 4 + Russ would be 26. Not happening. Harris blueshirting only makes him an IC for 2020, but still a 2019 signee.

Most expert opinions are we can max out at 24-25. That would include 2-3 BSs itself. Still carrying over from the Butch days and the new hard cap signee limit does away with blueshirting, outside of this one loophole of carrying over from before the rule.

It’s gonna be Wright, Henry T, Russell. Jammie if we miss on Henry T or Russell. Those 3 will put us at 25. Harris should have option to blue shirt if he wants. Seems like Pickens is the one guy that’s worth counting forward to this staff. They don’t wanna be constantly borrowing from the future, so looks like they’re content to settle at 23 if Pickens, as expected, doesn’t flip to us.

People are "trying too hard" to convince others because to the common fan, he seems like a non-take because he's rated in like the 1,400s on 247. Unless you really follow recruiting, most people are gonna go "Why are we taking this kid??" if he signs with us. That's why you see so many people trying to convince others he's a take.

Lol you named elected officials that anyone could google... how bout this, name the “famous” homeless guy in town. What is the name of the gas station in Southtown? What is a potato wedge called at said gas station? Name one morning coffee regular at Big Boy Junction. What do they call the community center on the east side? Community center on the west side?

All things a good ol Dyer County fellow ought to know.

Jiffy taters?

“Ha, ha, he is visiting Arkansas this weekend as a courtesy. He will be at Tennessee on Feb. 2. It is Tennessee or Texas A&M. What was the name of the clod hopper on TOS?”

About 99.9% sure he is a local prominent lawyer.

He is if its who I am thinking about. He is a ex Judge and was my college philosophy professor. He is a huge UT fan. Not sure how much of a booster he is anymore because he has had a rough past few years regarding tax problems I think. I would tend to think he knows what is going on.

Gibson County judge right?

Yeah, I've seen that speculation as well. It's going to be interesting to see how it goes. They've apparently already stopped recruiting Moore so we shall see.
