A byproduct of early signing day, you know where you stand with bigger fish early on now and are left scrambling for people to fill out the class. If Pruitt and staff were really high on him he would have been offered after camping like the numerous other players that were offered after camp.

Tennessee guys recruiting him were so worried about Chavis that they started bad mouthing him and lost focus on the fact that they were told that he really enjoyed his A&M visit and that A&M was a serious contender. Russel had a lot of respect for Chavis, and that started a week for Tennessee that continued into a snowball that ended with a disrespectful question to his dad accompanied with the rumor that they were in lupo's saying Russell was being disrespectful to them. Russell telling them that he was going to A&M was a strain that was too much to bear which led them down th path of defeat which also led to him not taking the OV.

The fact he was given an offer shows that Pruitt was interested. The guy has some good offers.

Yeah because the Tennessee staff has been reported bad mouthing so many other schools. Oh wait.... pretty sure it was stated many times that they don’t negative recruit because it is counter productive gtfoh

Edit: This came from recruits mouths btw not some stupid reporter (Recruits have stated that Tennessee doesn’t Negative Recruit)

That's easily explained. Not saying the kid can't play he may even reach stardom, but the fact is if we had hit on Pappoe, Bogle or gotten an early commitment from Henry T already then Russell would have never been close to a take. He wasn't a serious contender for TN until TN needed him to be ! It's just that simple.

There wasn’t nothing said disrespectful though at Lupos. That is the problem. One of the assistants of Texas A&M had put him up to it. A lot of people are extremely mad at the coaching staff of Texas A&M.

So Tennessee coaches said bad things about Chavis, asked the dad a disrespectful question and then in a public restaurant said the player was being disrespectful to them. I'm having a hard time buying one of those let alone all three. All this adds up to Russell was still mad about not being offered at camp and looking for something to get upset about especially considering he was not willing to OV. NSD is tomorrow, and we can move on to the 20 class. It's been fun popping in here for a laugh while waiting on news.

Except TN has always viewed AM as biggest competition....doesn't mix with your story but then again your getting it from his dad who is all in damage control blame TN for my son being a douche
