Jahmir Johnson - Texas A&M
John Mincey - Arkansas State
Quavaris Crouch - Michigan State

Shawn Shamburger is listed as coming back to Tennessee, but I don't think he is going to play anymore.
What's up with Shamburger hamburger?

Not really sure. He pulled his name out of the transfer portal, but he was not on the spring roster and didn't go thru spring practice. I thought I read somewhere he wasn't going to play, but I can't find that article. I guess he and DeAngelo Gibbs are still 'missing in action"?

Henry T
K. Lawrence
Dylan Brooks
Katron Evans
Eric Gray
Deandre Johnson

Are the only one's I wish we had back. Bye Felicia to everyone else.
Yeah and when you consider we got the Mitchell and Tremblay to replace Henry T and T Evans, it's not so bad. Dylan Brooks is also an unknown. I like Gray but he's a 1 trick pony. Tiyon Evans may be better all around.

The guys that hurt are Lawrence and Johnson. I suspect that we'll struggle in pass defense this year. Need some guys to step up for sure.

I thought it would be smart to have a thread of all the scholarship players that are transferring out this year. I’m not sure I’m the best person to do this thread but here goes....if I missed anyone or you know a destination pls let me know.

Total Transfers/ by Position/ Destination:
QB
1. Jarrett Guarantano - Washington St.
2. JT Shrout - Colorado

RB
3. Eric Gray - Oklahoma
4. Ty Chandler - UNC

WR
5. Brandon Johnson - UCF

TE
6. Sean Brown - ?
7. Jordan Allen - Weber St.
8. Jackson Lowe - Jacksonville St.

OL
9. Wayne Morris - Oklahoma
10. Jahmir Johnson - Texas A & M

DL
11. Savion Williams - Florida A & M
12. John Mincey - Arkansas St.
13. Isaac Washington - ?
14. Emmitt Gooden - kicked off team then transferred ?

LB
15. Deandre Johnson - Miami
16. JJ Petersen - ?
17. Kivon Bennett - kicked off then transferred ?
18. Henry To’o To’o - ?
19. Quavaris Crouch - Michigan St.
20. Martavius French - ?

DB
21. Keyshawn Lawrence - Oklahoma
22. Baylen Buchanan - Medical/ Louisiana Tech

Kicker
23. Brent Cimaglia - Georgia Tech

Funny thing is that you can tell which departures hurt just by noticing which players transferred to another P5 school. Or at least with 1 notable exception (hint: he went to Wash State).

Find Cimaglia the most baffling transfer of the bunch, but I also couldn't fault anyone for getting a free education at Georgia Tech.

Heard this and it makes sense.....you notice all the "impact" players all went out of conference. Wonder if the ones that took the happy meal plans were told to kick rocks when is comes to transferring inside the league? Alabama is the only one that flirted with To To and looks like he is off the TOSU

I think the transfer portal is going to be a great detriment to college football. The rich will only get richer. Schools will spend time and money to recruit players and develop them, then great programs will scoop in when they need a specific position and take them away. That combined with the
ā€pussificationā€ of football due to the targeting rule will kill the game. It is impossible to make a good hit anymore Without a penalty.

What about players at big programs transferring to smaller programs? You conveniently forgot that part. More players will transfer ā€œdownā€ than ā€œupā€. Smaller schools will have access to talent they wouldn’t normally attract during the recruiting process. Look at that list man. Most of those guys are transferring to programs that don’t even compare to UT historically or even recently. Relax

Glance past the end of your nose. The portal is still new. Yes, lateral and downward moves have dominated early on, but the tide will start to turn. Not as many players will move up, but it will be very good to excellent players that go to the top 10 schools. Only time will tell, but Alabama got 1 last week, so Sagan is very aware of how to make it work for him.

Yeah, I think if we get through the portal 1 LB, 1 DE/ edge rusher, 1-2 DBs and possible one more OT and we are OK depth wise.

Exactly. We can make this system work for us if we can gain players through the portal and not just lose them. Of course that's kinda hard to do with this investigation hanging over our head.

Only bad part of losing them all to me is we will have to endure hearing " & former Tennessee player " when watching nearly any college game next year lol

Who cares they left ....forkem I say ... can't lose anything you never had with most of them. Grey really only that hurts if you ask me
