Ya, Zook was also their coach then. CBS probably didn't want to compete with the Nebraska-USC game that night so they moved this game to 3:30

LSU/Auburn is usually on this same weekend isn't it?

and if memory serves, CBS has 1st choice, then ESPN....?

we dont have a week off before that game do we, I'm gonna say no. I never liked them having a week off to play Florida.

i'm surprised CBS chose LSU-Auburn as the nightcap instead of UT-Florida. Given a chance to put the defending national champions in primetime, I figured CBS would jump at the chance for that.

There is no Nightcap. Auburn plays miss. St. that weekend.

Yup, after looking.

LSU plays Mid Tenn State on the 15th.

And, since we're on CBS, gameday will be in Nebraska for the USC game which will be on ABC.

I believe this has changed, and it is more complicated now. While CBS usually gets 1st choice, ESPN has first choice a couple of times a year. It gets confusing.

Not so confusing really. Both CBS and ESPN are allowed to 'lock in' two games each before the season even begins... then the order thing comes into play week to week during the season.
