Of course not, some just want to complain for the sake of complaining. "It was too hot. The field was too green. Dobbs didn't pass for 300 yards. We created too many turnovers. If it weren't for the penalty yards we would have lost. We got lucky. CBJ should have never hired Debord." Etc. etc. etc. These are the same fans that complain about people standing up at the games

We've won eight games in a row. But it's not enough to stay happy.

Regardless of the teams, the fact a Vol program has won 8 in a row after the last 10 years is surprising and encouraging. How awesome would it be to get 10 in a row while breaking the streak?

I will be legitimately happy if we beat Florida. We clearly have a lot of work to do that.

Lol Volly we could have won 100 to 10 and the negativity would be strong.
Then again, I'm not sure if it's negativity or just not knowing a thing about football.

Example was when I sat next to you all at the APPY ST game. Are the guys that were sitting behind my wife and I always there? The defense missed a tackle and the guy screams and I quote " come-on Debord get your defense together".

Based off of what? Their underwhelming performance against UMass or their beatdown of a horrendous UK team that we also beatdown last year and has quit. I will believe we beat UF when we actually do it again but stop with the gushing over a team that hasn't beaten anyone with a pulse. I would say that App. State or Va Tech would beat either of those teams yet UT is bemoaned continuously on this board.

I understand drinking but I don't think I could get drunk enough to forget my players and coaches names.

I just think they don't know football and follow as closely as they would like people to believe.

My wife was so pissed from listening to their bs we left at halftime. Guess you noticed from having more room in the row. She could have schooled all four guys behind us on the game and names!

I tried to lean over and tell her "I hope your second half is better than the first" but something happened and it got loud. And I didn't say anything before you guys left.

But, I kid you not, there's a guy that sits about four rows behind us (he wasn't there the first game thank goodness) and all he does is scream "Run it up the middle!" in this voice that makes your skin crawl, which he started doing during the Dooley years. Problem is, HE'S STILL DOING IT! Hurd gets 4-6 yards at a whop when he gets a hole. I'll take that all day long!

We had a blast. Watching her cry during the Vol walk and slapping the guys hands was great. She's not really a shoulder to shoulder people person and kinda got freaked out over not being able to move. But was doing ok till we had to listen to the all SEC legends behind us. Lol

If I can get her to go again it will probably have to be terrace seats.

Luckily at the home games, I am not sitting in the middle of a set of "coaches". There was some behind us in Bristol though. It was very difficult for me to contain myself and not say something.

It would be a fun thing to watch though if one of these were sitting behind a players mother and said something about her son. I've been at high school games where that has happened - let's just say the person who was vocal said not a word the rest of the game.

We've won eight games in a row. But it's not enough to stay happy.

South Carolina
North Texas
Kentucky
Vanderbilt
Missouri
Northwestern
Appalachian State
Virginia Tech *

If not for a Redshirt Freshman QB getting emotional on the sideline of Bristol, we probably lose. That's on coaching Volly. Our coaches are scrambling to make their philosophy work... when instead it should finding what works period.

Florida is probably going to beat us with a less talented team this year. I don't think Butch will EVER beat Florida or Alabama.

So we'll get to 9 wins a row. Lose 3. Beat a&m and then go on another streak.

I've already put my chips for 2017, not this season. We're very much like Clemson was 4 years ago.

We'll get to 10 wins. Which is good... but have the talent for much more. And this is what frustrates me.

I am happy with our win streak but the number thing I want this year is to beat Florida. Idc if we beat them 3-0 and it's the ugliest game I've ever watched before as long as we get the W.

I think it is a syndrome...it has been so bad for so long that people are just waiting for the other shoe to drop--like it has for a decade.

I found myself thinking oh well, it was a good run after the 1st quarter against VT...what in the world? I had to shake my head and force myself to stay with the game.

Why would I feel that way? It is all we have known for so long. Adversity hits and the team quits.

NOT SO THIS YEAR. so, please, please give those of us who are shell shocked a little time to come around and get used to not being a doormat. We will get there...I promise.

Thanks
