He is a very skinny kid. He’s really long with a good wing span but he needs to mature this year. Needs a mean streak in him all the time instead of when we need him to show up.
Would love to take a trip and see a South Pittsburgh game. Been meaning to do that for years.

Do you know what kind of stats he posted last year? Did he make any All-State teams?

The Clemson offer is significant as they have produced some good players in the front 7 the past fifteen years.

Wonder if he is any relation to the young man, William Hardrick, from Austin Peay who just passed away? 22 year old DB who previously played at Mississippi St and Miami (OH). Says they are from different towns, but not terribly far from each other.

Mississippi state and Kentucky came by to pay J.R. A visit today
Thanks for the update.

Finally watched his film
- long kid but doesn’t have the wirey strength of a James Pearce (not many do). He gets engaged onto a man and has trouble shedding blocks.
- gives GREAT effort
- moves closer to a dlineman rather than a standup edge.

Good athlete with a nice frame. Plays at a really good program. Clemson may have offered but If I were Tennessee I would keep in close touch with him.

Rodney Garner could turn this kid into a contributor in year 2 at SDE. A starter by year 3 at about 6’6” 280 lbs

Kid needs to work on his hand strength.
Live in the gym and work on his feet.

I love his effort though. That kind of effort creates possibilities.

Kentucky offered.

Was told that a coach from duke came to visit and told him he was soft. Said he has taken that to heart and has been living in the weight room. Hopefully he gets his mean steak this year. One downfall I see alot and this is coming from a south Pittsburg alumni is the level of competition that has to be played due to region games. He doesnt have to give 100%. I understand it and at the same time I don’t. You already stand out on the field and don’t want to get injured but if you give 100% every play and gain some strength then he would be a lot higher on coaches radars. Also it’s still 1A football. These position coaches aren’t the type of coaches that can watch a film and tell him to work on X and you need to do X. Reguardless he will still play at the next level and is the only other power 4 offered player since Eddie Moore.

I will update as I hear them.
