Y’all will make excuses for anything. We have flat out failed in state this cycle so far.
Besides Bill Norton, Kane Patterson, Maurice Hampton, and maybe Zion Logue...which prospects have we "failed" on? And i'm not talking about the prospects YOU believe we should have landed...I'm talking about the prospects that Pruitt wanted to land. Because, you know, his evals hold way more weight than those collected from a sofa, while eating potato chips and drinking Jolt cola, checking VolNation and 247 sports every 5 mins. I don't know, I may be wrong...

So CJP is 2 for 6 then? just saying.

Saying we have failed at in-state recruiting is buying into a media narrative. There are only a handful of top in-state recruits that CJP has targeted and some of them, like Maurice Hampton, were committed to other schools before the new staff arrived. Schools like Arky and SCAR are taking TN recruits that we weren't aggressively pursuing. Building a fence around the state was Butch's strategy. Pruitt and Helton are going to find the best players wherever they live.

Yet, for some reason, this continues to have to be stated. It's really not hard, at all, to understand.

Agree on both points. We'll know after the 2020 cycle of we're failing on in state recruiting.👍

Woodi Washington and Lance Wilhoite also good players that we have whiffed on...

4* DL Bill Norton to Georgia
4* LB Kane Patterson committed to Ohio St
4* Cb Woodi Washington committed to Oklahoma
4* Cb Maurice Hampton committed to LSU
4* Rn Eric gray committed to Michigan
4* DE committed to South Carolina
4* wr lance wilhoite committed to Oregon

But yeah these in state kids were missing on are going to lesser programs in some of you’re opinions... haven’t you all learned anything.

Yes, that Butch Jones would have got a lot of those guys and I and many of you on here would have been elated. But I also think we saw now that Tennessee 4*s are still fools gold nationally. Better that a decade ago, but still not up to snuff. It’s been well documented that CJP is not as high on this year’s in state crop and is going after best talent regardless of zip code.

Norton, Patterson, & Hampton. Those are the only ones we wanted from that group.

You're right. Pruitt is failing. Maybe you should go cheer for another team?

Lol... before you comment PLEASE go read the profile and background on these guys, Jeez! About once a week, somebody like you shows up out of no where, skims through in state recruits and sees they are committed to another school. Then, make the assumption we just whiffed on them. Welcome to the club. Wonder if there is a group name for in and out fans like these?

All of those guys are legit 4 stars and good players.
So the questions are:
1) Did they fit?
2) Have we already recruited comparable players or waiting for better ones at same position.

We wanted and recruited really hard for Norton, Hampton, and Kane. So those are certainly misses. The others we didn't want regardless of what you want to think. In fact at least 1 on your list, possibly 2, tried to commit to UT and we didn't take their commitment. They have not done well with who they wanted instate. That is correct. But it's not nearly as bad as you keep trying to make it because 1) we wanted way fewer of them than you want to acknowledge 2) we have done well in other states.

Bandwagon fans at worse. Casual fans at best.

You can have your opinion, but I do not believe we pushed for them. They are both going to schools that aren’t in the south, which means they probably didn’t have options at other high level SEC schools. I believe Washington hasn’t even visited OU.

We've learned that you have the writing skills of a 3rd grader.

Folks better get ready because Trey Knox is probably going out of state as well, especially if the staff thinks they have a good shot with Curry or Puckett.
