'18 TN DT Brant Lawless

Need to go for a big 4 by adding That Bama DE commit. Talk about a haul to pull litaker. Law, Emerson and that bans commit all instate and highly rated

We definitely need a couple of elite pass rushing DE's. We've come up way short there the last few classes. Davis is probably going to be tough to flip but he could play immediately at UT and I personally think he's much better suited in a 4-3.

The number of whiny kids on VN would make for a nice tax credit though. :)

I'll stick with what I got. Between the personal exemptions and the child tax credits I do alright on my tax liability.

This is YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great pickup !!!

Excited about this kid. His build reminds me a lot of Jurrell Casey in college.

Not sure if he's that explode, but he's got that kind of build. Can't wait to get him in Orange and see what he can do

Finally getting above average DT play should make things easier on our DEs pass rush wise.

I can't remember the last time we had DTs who collapsed the pocket on a somewhat consistent basis. Barnett might have gotten 15 sacks each season if he'd had that kind of DT play to complement him

Somewhat consistent? I think we have two right now. Keeping them healthy is the issue. Tut and K Mac like twin wrecking balls at 100% is still just a dream however. I hope this year it becomes reality.

Way to take two words out of my post, leave the rest out, and completely twist the meaning lol I said somewhat consistently collapse the pocket. And that just hasn't been something we've seen much of from our DTs over the past few years for a number of reasons.

Those two have definitely got the potential. And they're still young, too. It took Vickers until his 4th year to play at the level he did last year, so they've still got time.

But Shy hasn't stayed healthy yet and KMac hasn't shown himself to be much more than a space eater thus far.

I really didn't mean that to be critical of your post. Really what you said is true, I meant to convey the frustration I feel about it. I think we have two wrecking balls just sitting there on the sidelines most of the time, or playing at about half capacity due to freaking injury.

I feel the same frustration, man. We know the potential is there with those two for sure.

K-Mac was really good as a true freshman IMO. He was actually dominant against the run, but he was able to pressure the pocket some as well just because nobody could move him off the line. Unfortunately he was not the same player at all last year after dropping so much weight. He wasn't anything close to being the same player strength wise either and who knows if that was a factor in his injury. It very well could have been.

I'm also a huge Tuttle fan but as you guys have said he obviously needs to stay healthy ever have a chance to become that dominant player we all think he can.

I think Tuttle could use a RS year just to get healthy. I think with his health issues he clearly won't leave early. Best for him to get a year off and get his legs underneath him for once. jmo of course.

My brother was a big country strong man, he decided to lose a ton of weight. He is about 180 lbs lighter now, but he is nowhere near as strong as he was. Whatever KMac did to lose that weight, was the wrong way for a DT. Now not being able to work his upper body for so long, has probably just set him back even more.

Yeah I agree. I hate to get back to last off-season but the mismanagement there could have repercussions for another couple of years.

where have you been? The DT play hasn't been bad, we were just young and hurt a lot. Both K. Mc and Tuttle are top notch guys who will play on Sundays barring further injury.

Quick for 300 lbs. Reminds me of Charles Grant I believe, played UGA d line but also got carries at tailback.

Both Shy (if he can stay healthy) and KMAC have the physical attributes to dominate. Tuttle is ahead of Kahlil with DT technique. Am really looking forward to this season.
