This one really surprises me. We're 3 star U. Can't believe we missed on a 3 star guy....and in our own backyard, too. Heupel doin' work, no? Kidding....kind of. Garcia probably just wants to get away from home. Happens.

Long way until signing day.

Tampa is pretty far from Knoxville.

This one may not be over yet if UT presses and his family really wants him close to home.

And if it is, there are worse places to get an education and play college football.

Tampa is also pretty awesome. Knoxville (East TN) is beautiful, but for a kid from Knoxville, I can see the appeal in the change of scenery that Tampa/St. Pete offers.

This is what I was thinking also.

We likely painted a roadmap of how he can earn PT in 2-3 years, with a likely RS (house settlement pending).

USF likely talked to him about an immediate role Freshman year and a significant role by Sophomore year (and thus an ability by him to transfer out for $$ for Junior/Senior year at bigger program).

This was a playing time and business decision for him.

We’ll see him his Junior year via transfer portal if all goes to plan.
